CSPAN WJ: Time reporter just lied about why Roberts went to FL for Bu$h
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 07:05 AM by CottonBear
He said that "he went to Florida to make sure that the ballots were counted correctly." He is a lying sack of dog shit. :grr: I wonder how much * is paying him to report positively about Roberts. :grr: :( :grr: :( :grr:

edit: The repoter's name is Eric Roston of Time magazine. He is on WJ live right now. :(

1. It's only a lie if a Democrat says it
Republican pronouncements are the standard by which truth is judged. Don't you know that yet?

4. He was dispatched as a "behind the scenes" lawyer
whose mission was to influence the Florida legislature to give the electoral votes to * without the legally required recount.

His firm gave $80,000 to */Cheney and he personally gave */Cheney $1,000.

7. He also contributed another $1000 to the Bush Recount Team
BTW: The $80,000 was for the 2004 Bush Campaign.

9. Correction on my part: He advised Jeb Bush about the recount.
Thanks for clarifying the point about the 2004 donation.

A really pissed off woman from Florida just called in to Wj and said she's still waiting for the recount. Pedro is going to read an article about "destroying unused butterfly ballots." WTF?
:grr: :wtf: :( :grr: :wtf: :( :grr: :wtf: :( :grr: :wtf: :(

11. Was this in connection to Roberts?
I think Roberts might have some 'splaining to do at his confirmation hearings. I'm sure he's working on a good alibi now.

14. I just love the idea that we are going to rehash all this shit
It really makes Bush and the Republicans look like the low-down skunks they are.

15. I think its better then rehashing
Rove v Wade which we know that he'll take the fifth on and get away with it.

Roberts has a lot to answer to regarding his relationship with the Bush 2000 and 2004 Campaign, the 2000 FL Recount and Jeb Bush. Apparently the State of FL has been sending a lot of business to Roberts company which just opened their Miami office in 2000 since Jeb's fuzzy meeting with Roberts during the 2000 Recount.

17. Roberts' participation was an "in kind" donation
to the Bush-Cheney campaign. Was the value of Roberts' service, as well as the other likely free services from his law firm, documented and reported to the FEC? If not, why not? Was Roberts' nomination to the DC Superior Court a quid quo pro for the 2000 assistance? What has Roberts done behind the scenes for Bush etal in the interim? Is a simple "pro-bono" trip to Florida enough to warrant the nomination to SCOTUS? These are questions that our illustrious reporters should be asking. You know, the same reporters who bought Baker's lie about how the votes had been "counted, recounted and counted again", never giving the GOP parsed definition of "votes" or of "counted". Do you see where I'm coming from?
