ALERT! Group called "Progressives for America" running pro-Roberts Ads
I've seen two long ads promoting John Roberts for Supreme Court. They look and run like Campaign Ads, complete with asking folks to support "President Bush's candidate" while showing the two of them walking together. Anyone else seeing these ads? Who is paying for them?

I Googled and couldn't find any political group called "Progressives for America." So, this is another case of Rupug Dirty Tricks...trying to make it sound like "Progressives" support John Roberts.

What bugs me about this is, why should a Candidate for Supreme court need a campaign ad and second why do the Repugs need to mask who's paying for the ad. Isn't this deception that needs to be called out by the PDA, DLC and DNC?

Has anyone else seen the ads? They are running here in NC during breaks on the Cables.

1. Very odd; a group from out of nowhere, w/no history
supposedly and with enough funding to run expensive campaign ads? I too would like to know what turnip they sprouted from under, and who's providing the money.

4. It is the Rethug 527 group Progress for America using that same guy to
do the voice over--boy, is he creepy--even when he is trying to tone it down.

6. The first time I saw the ad the disclaimer went by too fast. This a.m. I
looked carefully and in big letters I could swear it said Progressives for America. Now I was was just having my cup of coffee and maybe my eyes were not focused yet...:D but I did write it down and then went and Googled.

"Progress for America" would be the correct group looking at their website. I will look for the ad again and see if I read it incorrectly. I hope others who saw it can check too.

Thanks.

3. Now this pisses me off!
These people will stoop to anything. We need to figure out how to retaliate. It would be nice to see their spokesman appear with a real progressive somewhere.

The group is obviously covert, no web site...

8. Do you remember if they are using "Progress" for America or "Progressives
for America in their disclaimer? I think it's important to know if they are trying to pretend they are "Progressives" and not the RW Group "Progress for America." If they are disguising their name it might mean that we could get some attention going on whether it's legal or not that they might be cleverly switching their name. Or, I read it wrong when I saw the ad.

10. I think progress is suggesting progressives --
even if it turns out to be progress - I still think there is a deliberate attempt to suggest the support is coming from progressives.

They have been trying to repackage PNAC as the "Progressive" Policy Institute for years.

Ken Starr gave Roberts a warm endorsement on Lou Dobbs last night. They are all coming out of the woodwork!

12. Dr. William Greene's RightMarch is also running Roberts ads
http://rightmarch.com/

Greene is a real piece of work. Scoop did a lengthy article on him:
William Greene's angry and mobile rapid response machine
http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0507/S00062.htm

He was an instigator in Schiavo. Also in the liberals want to take Christ out of Christmas. And many many other far right campaigns.

13. Are Bush and Judge Frenchfry holding hands in the ad?
Bush likes to hold hands with Sheiks.

Why not with Federalistfry Roberts.

Now that would be progressive.
