Fidel Castro accused Bush Admn. of promoting subversion against Cuba
(Before you anti-Castro folks dismiss this article, this is a straight forward report on what he said, not a commentary. Plus, with the English and American Press refusing to report news from Cuba...)

Fidel Castro accused Bush Administration of promoting subversion against Cuba

Ahora.cu / 27-07-2005

Cuban President Fidel Castro accused the US administration of promoting subversion and destabilization in the Island through the leading role of its Interests Sections in Havana. Fidel Castro said the administration of US President George W Bush has used over a hundred million USD for that purpose, pursuing multiple aggressions against Cuba, including interference with radio and television transmissions.

He noted the current Republican administration represented "the most repugnant and sinister hatred towards an honorable and heroic nation that will neither kneel down nor be intimidated by threats and tanks from the most powerful country." The Cuban leader´s speech was given on National Rebellion Day Tuesday night honoring the 52nd anniversary of the attack on Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks, fortress of the Fulgencio Batista regime.

The Bush government uses the Interest Section (SINA) for its plots and exceeds "the limits of the most fundamental decency" to engage in unusual provocations, denounced the Cuban statesman. Fidel Castro noted Interest Section chiefs have directly assumed command of mercenary groups, whom they provide with large amounts of funds, in many ways and under various pretexts.

He said SINA offices and residences, under the shelter of diplomatic immunity, have become dens of provocation to facilitate communication and openly direct mercenary activities. "They do not pretend, diplomatic parcels are openly used for smuggling computers, means of communication, printed material, libelous articles and any type of object or goods for their wage-slaves," added the Cuban statesman.

1. I see both sides.
Yes, Bush would do anything possible to undermine Cuba. And yes, he is repugnant and sinister.

However, Castro is also a mass-murdering douchebag.

2. Sorry, I completely lost all faith in any and all things our current...
...U.S. Government says, they Lie about everything, remember?

And with the fall of the USSR, and the revelation that Yes, their are Hot Young women in Russia and calling a young Russian woman a Babushka, would definitely piss her off, I'm also questioning everything I was ever told about Cuba growing up, because it looks like it was a pack of lies too.

3. Ah, but of course...
My ex-girlfriend's grandfather being executed by Castro because he wouldn't join the military (the stated reason -- the real one was probably that he was a property owner) was a pack of lies. Her grandmother being lost to raving insanity to this day -- waking up screaming that Castro might get her -- that was a pack of lies. Good fucking God.

4. No news there
The Bushes have been stirring up Cuba since Prescott's buddy Allen Dulles sent young Poppy there in the 50's. The CIA has operatives designed to keep the exiles stirred up in Miami and their contacts back home. This is why Jeb was sent to Florida in the first place.

Make no mistake about it, Jeb & Junior would love to deliver Cuba to the old man before he's permanently reassigned to Hell's intelligence community.

Bush Names Coordinator for Cuban Political Transition

President Bush has named a veteran congressional staff official, Caleb McCarry, to the post of Transition Coordinator for Cuba. Mr. McCarry will coordinate U.S. policy efforts aimed at a peaceful end to Communist rule in Cuba.

The announcement that Mr. McCarry will fill the position was made by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who told a gathering at the State Department, including leaders of the Cuban-American community, that the aim of U.S. policy is to "accelerate the demise" of Mr. Castro's tyranny on the Caribbean island: "I know that a lot of hard work lies ahead, but the people of Cuba desire and deserve to share in the democratic progress of the Americas," she said. "With Caleb's help and the help of others in this room, the United States is going to hasten the coming of the day when a free Cuba is no longer a dream, but a reality."

He told the State Department audience that while the Cuban dictatorship conspires in darkness to perpetuate itself, the United States through last year's commission report has made a public statement on what it is prepared to do to help Cubans secure their rights to liberty and prosperity:

"For 46 years, the dictatorship has willfully and cruelly divided the Cuban family," he said. "It will be Cubans, brave souls on the island itself and from around the world who will determine the future of a free Cuba. It is the responsibility of the civilized world to act to see that the Cuban family is reunited under political and economic freedom."

7. We have been screwing with Cuba
since we hijacked their revolution in 1898. So this is not exactly a new policy.
