Frist defies the Emperor, flip-flops on stem cell research...
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 08:42 AM by Richardo
Heard this on NPR this morning. Wants more fed funding for embryonic stem cell research, says exisitng lines not enough.

Or did I dream the whole thing? I hope not - I was driving at the time.

2. So is Frist the doctor battling Frist the moron in his head, or....
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 08:41 AM by AntiCoup2K4
...is it just another idiot with his finger in the air, testing the wind?

Knowing Frist, he will probably try to harvest stem cells from cats.

3. Yes, it's true...he's got 2008 on his mind:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/29/frist.stem.cells.ap/index.html

..and this is why:

"Almost two-thirds of Americans say they support embryonic stem cell research and a majority of people say they would like to see fewer restrictions on taxpayer funding for those studies, recent polls suggest."

7. This is a non-sequitor, a career criminal ploy.
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 09:04 AM by EST
He knows Jeebus Boosh will veto any bill or it will get bottled up in committee. This is a zero risk trick to ingratiate himself with a less than discriminating public.
Edited to add: He can't depend on vote fraud in the Rapethug primary, since the only reason to use the Diebold ditty is to shaft Democrats, not to force a choice between the majority moderate rethugs and the far right wingnuts.
