Bush after presidency - looking ahead
Someday, Bush will no longer be president. That might be after the normal expiration of his term, or possibly sooner.

What will he be like as a former president, especially in the eyes of the world?

I'm hoping for a Nixonian retreat into historical obscurity, as America rolls up its sleeves to repair the damage that he's done.

15. no, think big - Bowie Kuhn
he wants the big job. He thinks that by play acting at Presidunce for 8 years (if lucky) he will be qualified to actually do a real job.

:scared:

Please, don't let him near football - and if he touches basketball and the Spurs have any kind of team, well, I can't be responsible. :yoiks:

3. I say we dog his ass so much....
that it sends him to an early grave. In a way, that's what happened to LBJ, but BushCo deserves a far worse fate, IMO.

Keep the pressure on these fuckers, especially since congress & the senate won't do it!

6. President Clark will court martial him for desertion
He will turn to the bottle and be stalked by former harken stockholders. He will never have a peaceful nights sleep the rest of his worthless life.

7. It depends on who follows him.
If his whole administration gets re-hired, then who knows?

Personally, I don't know how he'll get around. He is the most hated man on the planet. He needs so much security just to travel now.

Imagine what it will be like when he's just a normal citizen and he has less Secret Service detail.

17. Replay of Nixon
Nixon spent the better part of his post President years in disgrace - even being rejected by several NYC co-op boards when he wanted to live there. Bush, could have it even worse ; Nixon was viewed as a brilliant man who people like Clinton met with just because they respected his intellect.

I could be really wrong, but there seems to be very little closeness to his children. Without the Presidency, what friends will he have?

18. I say
A quick trip to the Hague and 25 years at hard labor. If the world were just he would spend it at Abu Ghraib with Iraqi prison guards. Then have to live off of social security as his only income as a stipulation of his parole.
