Giraldi on Iran, CIA, and the Niger forgery

I don't recall seeing this before, sorry if it's a dupe.

You'll know Philip Giraldi as the "American Conservative" columnist who sounded the warning about Cheney telling the Pentagon to plan a retaliatory nuclear strike against Iran. "The Weekend Interview Show" (http://weekendinterviewshow.com/ ) has an interview with Giraldi, where he develops that theme and makes many other interesting comments. (He points to Ledeen on the Niger documents forgery, which is consistent with what many DUers have been thinking, for example.) Here's a direct link to the interview:

looks like DU'ers have chosen not to invest the time to listen to this ... Giraldi knows a whole lot of deep background stuff ... the interviewer asked him some tough questions ... just excellent ...

his comments on the Niger document, Iran, the WH madmen and the Israelis were fascinating ...

I downloaded it a few days ago but only had time to listen to it today. I like how lucid Giraldi is, speak softly even as he delivers bombshell after bombshell. And this guy is a conservative?

you know, we've become so conditioned to the neo-con mindset and also to the incredible polarizations of the American electorate that we forget that there really are one or two honorable conservatives out there ...

i have no familiarity at all with Giraldi's politics ... in fact, while i assume he is a conservative, the only basis i have for this conclusion is that he writes for the American Conservative magazine ... perhaps that is not necessarily indicative of his politics ...

what really is remarkable is that Cheney's statement about launching an unprovoked nuclear attack on Iran did not make the front page of every newspaper all over the world ... if the reports are true, i can think of no greater newsworthy event in the last 10 years or so ...

one day, hopefully soon, we Americans will awaken from our inattentive slumber to restore our democracy and restore sanity to our government ... until then, we can do little more than offer our apologies to the victims who have suffered at the hands of those we have failed to dislodge from our thrones of power ...

More people need to hear this! Post this in the GD thread cause more people go there I think. This is powerful stuff! The host is reading how Iran has no capabilities or plans to build a nuclear weapon! So all the talk about Iran having weapons is just more lies! The office of the VP is for a nuclear response against Iran if there is another major terror incident along the lines of 9/11. Doesn't mean they'll use it but this is something that's coming from the same people who brought us Iraq when Iraq was not involved. The scary thing is you'd use the opportunity of an attack to take out Iran as a threat to the region (oil). Iran is ran by Shi'ite's and not by Sunni's. No reason to assume a connect between Iran and Al-Quida.... You should definitely hear this interview!

How interesting that ANYTHING involving the Israelis in American Foreign Policy is quelled immediately. Keeping the Iraquis destabilized, and trying to do so to Iran, is known to whom in the American administration? Why isn't it public knowledge and available for the grist mill? The MSM may be horrible these days, but come on, I don't even hear of it much on the blogs. The Israelis apparently run amok as freely in America as they do in the Middle East. Lest anyone cry racism, consider truly getting shed of this Israeli nation before they lead us into a nuclear holocaust. No matter how attractive the whore, you cannot explain away the prostitution, and it's always about the money and associated vices of power, domination, and dysfunctional social values.

Being divorced from Israeli intentions/complicities seems as valuable to the well-being of America as getting rid of the Bushit neocons. Nothing is simple, but it has to start, and talking about it openly is a good start.
