Today's media lies and spin about Clark's supposed mis-statements.
1.) Clark said he didn't go to Yale (ala Kerry, Lieberman, and bu*h). He stated his parents couldn't have afforded to send him there and he had to work his way through college.

Media Whore spin: Clark went to West Point where tuition is free for students.

Truth: Guess what Whores, Yale is NOT FREE, and on top of tuition parents have to pay room and board. West Point was where Wes wanted to go anyway, but it was a lot more economical for him and his parents.

2.) Clark stated that he was the only person who grew up poor among the Dem candidates. Now, how many times do we all forget to include something or someone in our dialogs with others? I don't know about the rest of you but it's quite a bit. Clark corrected himself, AND APOLOGIZED) later, which of course he's not being given credit for.

Media Whore spin: Clark's campaign has foundered on his never-ending succession of bloopers! (Al Gore redux anybody?)

PLUS!

Media Whore spin: One whore said she'd seen the house where Clark grew up in Little Rock and she wondered if the neighbors would agree that they're poor.

Truth: Clark and his mother first lived with his grandparents. After a number of years his mother remarried and Clark and his mom lived with his step-dad. What I've read is that while the step-dad was very kind and loving to Wes and his mom, he was a kind of nere-do-well and didn't provide much for the family. Wes's mother had to keep working full time. She was a secretary in a bank. I don't think these people were wealthy.

I know the media whores are desperate to get Wes out of the race, but if a couple of inocuous statements, one of which was true (similar to his statement about being a General while Kerry is a Lieutenant after being set-up by Dole) turn the voters against him, WE'RE IN TROUBLE PEOPLE!

1. If that is all they have on Wesley Clark, Good!
Seems to me like they are trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

2. 1940s
Lots and lots of people were poor. My family included. As for Clark's stepfather, he was an alcoholic and never provided for the family, although he was kind to Wes. I'm proud of what he became in life with so much working against him. Just as I am proud of Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards.

6. I will too. And Judy Woodruff is the one who implied Wes' family
wasn't poor. I'll write her also. :argh:

5. Clark had to be super boy (no pun intended)
to get into West Point! He had to get a member of congress to nominate him. Like Clinton, another scholarship poor kid (and Rhodes scholar-- which is during the time that repukes ignore when they call him a draft dodger), Clark had to be pretty damned perfect!

7. I don't think
I've ever seen such attention given to non-issues ever before. Clark doesn't get asked policy questions.

Today on Crossfire Tucker and Begala were STILL going on about whether Clark supported the IWR and his words of encouragement towards the Bush Administration prior 9/11. James Rubin gave the same terrific answers that Clark and his supporters have been giving for months. This is all they ever talk about.

Now they've decided to carry on about whether Clark's old neighborhood is realy poor enough to be considered poor.

12. I did see that
I think Tucker was embarrassed because he accidentally referred to Rubin as Clark's "senior porn adviser" (I guess he meant to say "senior policy adviser"). Did anyone else catch that? Begala called him on it and Tucker's face went beet red.

9. It's definitely a smear campaign.
Media whores have decided which Dem is allowed to come in first, second, third, and fourth, and that's all there is to it! Well, their little plan fouled up in Iowa, and we will see that happen again with General Clark!

10. It's shameful. The media is gunning for both Clark and Dean.
That little snippet from Woodruff was a bit of projection on her part, and I am sure that voters saw through it.

I hope both Clark and Dean can keep pushing back, and exposing the truth.

Go Dean!

Go Clark!

13. I am hoping Clark can get out
from under this media shit-storm with a strong third or even second tomorrow. It would be great to watch them eat their words tomorrow.

14. Absolutely. Then the vice grip will tighten even more.
But if the people see through the media's lies there's not much the whores or Pukes can do about it. Black box voting is still not the law of the land.
