I am getting ready by spreading the word about Debbie Stabenow and Jennifer Granholm. Granholm has helped create and save hundreds of thousands of jobs, while Dick DeVos outsourced thousands of jobs to China.

3. Blogging, raised money for Hackett.
It would be nice if there was a countdown to 2006 timeline. with goals for people like you and me. things like: check to make sure all your democratic friends are registered to vote. bring people to meetings, etc...etc.....the DNC needs to do more to reach out to the activist base and get us activated to get out and do 1:1 outreach to the people in our sphere of influence.

16. Nevermind the DNC or your state party
we need to act locally. Your idea of a 2006 timeline with goals is a great one! Create one for your local Dems and enlist them in your effort.

5. I'm working
at the Democracy Cell Project and also working grassroots locally. I write LTE about the Congressman who ran on a fake promise to be a moderate.

BUT I will not work for Debbie Stabenaw since she violated all of us with her vote on the Bankruptcy bill. I'm willing to put up with crossing the lines on some votes, but that one hurt us the most because she sided with the credit industry over her voter.

Sorry Debbie, but you picked your lobbyists over the average Jane DOe on that one.

Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 02:51 PM by ih8thegop
Won't he be 81 or so by then?

If so, I see an excellent chance at a Senate pick-up.

15. Ooh good point, Diebold hasn't come to my state yet, but...
I might start getting very active in the Secretary of State race that will be in my state next year. Our SoS Fox McKeithen just passed away. He was a Republican but he was a good guy and kept Diebold out of the bidding process for our machines because he said that they aren't reliable.

14. I live in the 1st district of Louisiana, very little that I can do atm
Bobby Jindal isn't going to be targeted by the Dems and Bill Jefferson won't be challenge by the pukes. As the election gets closer I'll probably volunteer for Charlie Melancon, who will be targeted. No Senate race in Louisiana this year. If I end up going to school in Tennessee, I'll work on the Senate race there.

24. All races serve a purpose
even those that seem unwinnable. If you work them hard the Rethugs will have to spend money, plenty of it, that could be helpful to them elsewhere. At least make 'em work and pay for it! Never just surrender, especially not without a fight.

18. I'm working on multiple campigns this year
Tim Kaine, Leslie Byrne, and Creigh Deeds need as much help as they can to get to Richmond. I'm also working on local races for the House of Delegates. There are many local elections this year but people don't usually care unless there is a federal or statewide race. Getting democrats elected locally will help us in the future.

She would be a pretty strong GOP candidate for Senate.

23. Democrats Abroad-Mexico
Currently I'm setting up a year's worth of fundraisers for expatriate voters here to help finance 2006 Congressional candidates. A happy hour called "The Blue Hour" -- one each month dedicated to a single candidate in a close race. We'll bundle the checks and send them to the campaign.

Expats like their drinkies  so they will probably part with their cash.
