Bush to Vacation at Tamarack Lodge (Idaho) testing his Biking Skills?
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 02:31 PM by KoKo01
Uh Oh....I hope he remembers his "training wheels" and has the Medevac Team with him and a helicopter on standby....:scared:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Dan Froomking reports in Washington Post..

And what might he plan to do there? Well, the brand-new Tamarack Resort has 12 miles of sinewy bike trails, and even offers a cushy chairlift up 7700 feet to a peak from which mountain bikers can either a) "take a relaxing, scenic route down" or b) "test their skills on more technical, single track trails like Stage Fright and Stage Right."

I'm betting: b.

9. The full article from the Idaho Newspaper says it's been in the works for
months. That's according to the Idaho Governor. Article says the scuttlebutt abour was that the Tamarack was putting in extra phone lines, etc. and has had 15 rooms reserved for the visit..but they didn't confirm he would be there...it was talk from the technicians in the coffee shop that had folks guessing that's where he would stay. His schedule is free on Wednesday...so that's why Tamarack was a good bet.

OK, I'm no prophet, but if absconds from the "Little Slice of Heaven" NOW, he is finished politically. Even Congress will stop fearing him.

13. What you're saying is what you're saying
no one will dispute that.

Klutzy and tanking pretzedent does death-defying (more or less) run down craggy mountain slope.

I'm sure he will prepare for danger by wearing a protective codpiece, as usual.

Anyone live around this resort? It'd be awesome if the protest followed him around. He'd go bonkers and probably try and punch someone.

24. Idaho patriots showed up for Cindy last night, and will again
Anti-war crowd 'stands with Cindy'

The Statehouse steps were packed with anti-war demonstrators Wednesday night as part of a national day of protest to bring American troops home from Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Greg Wilson, who said he recently returned to Boise from a tour with the Idaho Air National Guard in Kuwait and Uzbekistan, told the crowd that he would often see troops leave for Iraq and come back in flag-draped coffins.

"When it comes right down to it, we want to go home," he said.

The Boise rally and about 1,600 similar protests were organized by the left-leaning advocacy group MoveOn.org and other groups to rally support for Cindy Sheehan, the woman camping out near President Bush's Texas ranch to bring attention to the fate of her son, who was killed in Iraq last year. The rally was supposed to be a candlelight vigil, but organizers said they were prohibited from burning candles at the Capitol.

The rally came just days before President Bush is to visit Idaho for some vacation time Monday and Tuesday in Donnelly and a speech Wednesday in Nampa.

The Capitol steps were awash in crosses, placards and "America Stands With Cindy" signs, and at one point the crowd of more than 300 people broke into "America the Beautiful."

Air Force veteran Patience Varnagy, now a Boise school teacher, said her husband is serving in Turkey because the U.S. is stuck in Iraq and said the U.S. military is increasingly stretched thin.

"I feel we have no business being over there," she said.

Laura McCarthy, whose son Gavin McCarthy is serving in Iraq, carried a sign with her son's photo and the words, "Bring Home My Son Alive and Now."

"I just support Cindy Sheehan 100 percent," she said. "She could be sitting home waving her flag and consoling herself in lies like a lot of families are having to do."

Carl Keller, of Boise, said Iraq is looking more and more like the Vietnam War.

"I lost my best friend in Vietnam, and I guess I draw a connection there," he said.

The rally lasted about 45 minutes. Boise MoveOn team leader Rosemary Sneeringer said the turnout was much larger than she had expected.

"Cindy Sheehan wanted people to support our troops by asking our citizens, 'Is it better to honor our soldiers by keeping them in harm's way or by bringing them home?'" she said.

Liz Paul of the Idaho Peace Coalition announced an anti-war rally in Donnelly, the president's first Idaho stop, scheduled for Monday night. She said there also would likely be rallies in Nampa, where Bush is expected to make a speech Wednesday morning.

:D Otherwise I'm sure it's all on the "up and up." Probably the Tamarak donated the 15 rooms for a hand signed photo of the P-Resident with the Hotel Manager that can be hung in an appropriate viewing area in the Hotel...

They hold troops over in Iraq past their tours of duty - people who NEED a vacation - while shit-for-brains rides his bike. Grrrrr.

26. There are, as mentioned in an article posted above...
a few protests planned for his visit. They (the protesters) are also planning on delivering a warrant for the citizen arrest of Shrub.
