The next president will be a Democrat
said two freeper DJs on the morning show here in Milwaukee. Glumly of course, and without thinking Bush is really to blame. But even they said that Bush needed to get his ass out and say something and be the president re: Katrina. They attributed the fact that he has not to how lousy a communicator he is, and how he can't do off the cuff etc. They thought the only two times he ever sounded good when he talked was on 9/12 and at the 2004 convention. And one of them was mimicking that weasel laugh of his.

I thought it was interesting. They see Democrats in their future. Bahahahahaha!

1. Well, sure, when everything goes to Hell, get a Dem to clean it up.
It's pretty much the history of the 20th century in this country.

8. You're forgetting the biggest cleanup of the 20th Century.
FDR cleaning up the corruption and economic mess known as the Great Depression, which started after three straight Republican administrations -- Harding, Coolidge and Hoover. And during every year of those three administrations, the Republicans controlled the U.S. House and Senate.

It looks like history is about to repeat itself, unless something changes fast in this country.

5. But who wants to clean up Chimp's mess?
What a nightmare.
It will take decades to undo all the evil acts Lieboy and his thugs have committed.
It's time Bush got the blame.

that he apparently wanted the fubar that has become America. 'Cause anyone following Bush is going to have one sucky job.

I remember once after the first debate of Bush saying "hard work" Kerry told a crowd that he was ready to take on the "hard work".

9. Bush** and his band of merry thieves...
... are really losing the American public at an amazing clip.

My wife works at a large company that is distinctly "red". A year ago, she was one of the very very few folks who didn't fawn at the altar of Dumbya.

She was in a meeting today. 10 of the 14 people there were openly disdainful of the Dim Son.

The pukes are in denial, they don't realize the country has turned against them in a big way, and it is mostly over something as fucking trivial as gas prices.

10. It was always going to be something universal like that
or a draft.

And it doesn't help that he is, as Green Day say, "President Gasman"

So even if he's not completely at fault, the perception is that he's in on the gouging. I do think that other countries are finding ways to not send us their oil. Gee, could they be peeved with us? Hm?

11. Katrina may well be the tipping point.
Two rabid FReepers at my work openly bashed * over the fact that he cut the emergency services fund in that area, and over the fact that his response has been slow. This was a first b/c in the past * could do no wrong in their eyes.

12. You're right, and I expect there may be a record number of
candidates. The Iowa and NH debates could feature 10 or more.

21. We have to keep it up
We have to keep the pressure on for three more long years. And there is no saying that they will not select a Republican candidate next time who is not necessarily seen as close to this administration. People will automatically have two choices that 'aren't Bush' next time. We have to make sure not just that Bush looks BAD (he does that one for himself), we have to make sure that some Dem looks GOOD. That's what happened this last time. It isn't so much that Bush looked good, we just didn't look better to many people.

As someone else posted there will be a lot to clean up but I know we as democrats can do it. If we, along with FDR, can get through the Great Depression we can get through this for sure.
