I Want A Democrat Who Will Stand Up And FIGHT!
The silence is deafening. Our representatives are so afraid of losing support that they aren't saying anything. And, that causes them to lose support. We can go with the CW in 2004 that says Bush won because of the far-right. Or we can go with the opposite view, one that is often stated here, that Bush didn't really win at all. But neither of them gets to the point: Kerry was a cartoon of everything that Bushco said he was. He had an idiot campaign staff that told him to take the middle ground on every conceivable issue. Instead of providing the American people with a choice, Kerry turned everyone except ABB voters off.

I can't tell you how many times I heard before, during, and after the elections, "What difference does it make, they're all the same anyway." Eventually I stopped bothering trying to explain the difference. The truth was to clear to me.

Democrats are wimps. They don't stand up for ideals or values unless they speak to those people that espouse them. They talk out of both sides of their mouths and move toward the center on every issue. They align themselves with organizations like the DLC. Rather than focus on the lies and bullshit we are being fed every day, they simply argue the nonsense issue of the moment.

Why aren't the Democrats out on TV right now condemning the Bush administration for doing nothing to bring down gas prices? Why aren't they pushing hard for a timetable on Iraq? A silent minority breeds ignorance in the masses. We need Democrats that we can be proud of and Democrats that espouse our values. Tell our Reps and Senators that they need to stand up to the lies. We need a voice!

No one would let me within miles of a real public forum.Because I would tell the truth I would get people to think,I would inspire and I would step up and fight like a lion.In ways too many are scared to,,why because I don't value my life anymore sio what have I got to lose?

I make the most dangerous of dissonant.

15. Mainstream
And everyone to be taken seriously has to fit"normal" because most sheep fear not normal.

And not normal is the only thing that can wake them up..because they do NOT want to wake up..Look at what they will be waking up TO!!

I remind them of freedom and change two things our culture fears and thinks it HAS!!

Money makes perfect sense to me.

12. Okay...
Then show me a Democrat that has challenged Bush consistently and without apprehension. Not just when the polls told them it was okay, but when something needed to be said. We're talking about elected representatives here. I'd say there are less than five, and none of them ever get any media coverage because they're marginalized by the rest of the party. I'm getting fucking sick of it.

10. Maybe if Congress was in session right now
They're all in their home states.

Kerry's calling for Red Cross donations.

Landrieu is obviously where she should be.

Otherwise, I think they'll pipe up when they get back into Washington.

13. This isn't about now, really
It's about the last ten years. About playing to the center, about compromising on everything, from the most horrible crime of this decade to the gay marriage debate. Everything. If they weren't speaking up when they were in session, why should we expect that they will speak up now?

We've dealt with the bullshit for almost five years now. And we've taken it, and taken it, and taken it. And we haven't learned from it yet. It's not about the hurricane, it's about everything. We are constituents of a party of sell-outs. I'm a loyal Democrat and will vote for them on the principle that they are better than the assholes we have now. But I want something done.

11. You want Russ Feingold.
http://feingold.senate.gov/

He has a timetable for Iraq withdrawal, and he opposed the Patriot Act. He's a solid progressive, and from what I hear a political powerhouse.

that is the best point you made in your post ... if "the opposition" party won't tell the people the truth, nothing will change ...
