I thought Homeland Security was supposed to address police communications?
I guess they may have addressed it but haven't done anything about it.
-Snippet-

"Law enforcement officials expressed frustration with their inability to communicate.

A clearly frustrated Nagin conceded that "the communications systems are not that great."

Between the looting and rescuing thousands of people who didn't heed calls to evacuate ahead of the storm, "We've had our hands full," Nagin told CNN."

So let me get this straight. On 9/11, the thing that killed so many firefighter was the fact that they never recieved a message to evacuate the towers because of the imminent collapse. And yet, in New Orleans, a port mind you, these police officers are having difficulty organizing because of poor communication systems. Hmmm... Sorry to nitpick but that's fucked up.

1. Are you surprised?
They suck at everything. Why would anything be improved since 9/11?

Homeland Security is just a name some blowhards gave an inept bunch of crooks to give Rwers the warm fuzzies.

2. Still, they could have at least bought a few radios to make it look..
like they're doing something. If the Newscasters can transmit live signals from a fricken hotel room during the hurricane, surely, there are means of communication that would work after one.

Homeland Security. What department had the silk plants and luxurious office furnishings?

May have been Transportation Safety. I don't remember. I'm sure a lot of money has been wasted. What has been accomplished? Are the ports secure yet? You know, ports like New Orleans?
