There is NO excuse for not dropping water by air...
People can't survive more than 3 days without water. There is no reason why they can't drop water to these people by air, ESPECIALLY those who are gathered together in large groups - and they have stopped rescue efforts and have a bunch of helicopters standing by.

I feel like our government is content to just sit back and watch these people die. And lord knows our Congress wouldn't interrupt their vacation to actually do something. No doubt they're celebrating the demise of a bunch of poor people who are a drain on society. (:puke:)

They're more worried about raising money (can anyone say looting?) from the public than they are about keeping people alive.

I know people aren't supposed to say the word 'Nazi' around here, but these guys come so close in philosophy to the horrifying lack of concern for human life that the name fits.

There is NO excuse for not dropping water by air.

Fuck, this would be easy. Easy.

What is GOING ON?

Can we pool our resources and buy a fucking helicopter ourselves?

5. If you do drop water, it has to be much more than the group needs...
The only reason I can think of NOT to drop water to a group is that if you don't drop enough, they'll kill each other over it.

We should be dropping cases and cases of bottled water, saturate the supply to overwhelm the large demand.

11. Too unsafe to drop a parachute. I doubt that.
I'm beginning to doubt if there was really a gunshot either. Or whether that gunshot was accidental. I haven't heard from anyone who actually witnessed it.

16. May not have been. Remember Kent State? At first the
Ohio NG, or their spokesman, were claiming a sniper had been firing at them. THis later went down the memory hole.

8. "We have to prioritize our needs"
says the White House.

STOP prioritizing. WATER is the priority!!! Without that, all will die very soon.

9. Lord help me...
...but I seriously think they WANT these people to die.

This goes way beyond incompetence and into deliberately letting people die.

17. I think you may be right.
If these people die, it may cause social unrest in other cities. Riots. Think back to the sixties, Watts, Detroit, etc.

A perfect excuse to declare martial law all over the US, and/or institute draconian totalitarian laws (that just happened to be written up as long ago as 4 years ago) stripping away more of Americans' rights.

10. If these were rich white folks
stranded on, say, Catalina, they'd have been rescued by now. Period.

There should be no one left in that city by this time. Everyone should have been evacuated, tended to medically, given water and fed.

They should be clean, dry, and safe.

I am sick of this bullshit... My heart aches for these poor people!

12. IS there something we can do to start getting water to them?
Does someone want to call the Red Cross, Salvation Army and some of the others to see if we can contribute to charter a helicopter to get water in there? Maybe the relief agencies have resources already and just need some people pushing them.

I emailed my US Senator to try to get a message in to FEMA, but freaking Congress is on vacation and lord knows they won't stop their fun to actually do something for Americans in trouble. But maybe we can start putting pressure on our elected officials to start doing some practical things that will help people stay alive.

It's clear our government is inept and heartless.

"Never ascribe to malice, that which can be explained by incompetence"

But how can anyone truly be this stupid and incompetent??? Unbelieveable. This Administration makes a new low for incompetence.
