Bush - "I hope Americans conserve [gasoline] if given a choice,"

Finally, Georgie. Too bad it only took a Category 5 storm and the complete mayhem that followed, to allow you to utter such words.

On a side note: I was listening to buffoon Boortz today, and he said the answer to the gas crisis in Atlanta (and other cities, I'm sure) was to allow station owners to raise gas to whatever price they wanted to. He said something to effect of "$5.00-a-gallon gasoline would definitely make people get only enough gas that they need." So Neal, price-gouging is the answer to this situation? Good ol' conservatives; on the side of business even in the face of a natural disaster. Wouldn't a better solution be to somewhat ration the amount of gasoline per person at a particular station. If some man decides to drive up in a Hummer H2, give him the same $30 in gas that you or I need to make a living.

edit: grammatical correction (felt the heat from the Grammar Police)

1. Sorry, Georgie, but the majority of your voters don't give a shit.
They figure "someone else" will sacrifice so they can drive their Hummers, Escalades, and Excursions.

2. Does this mean he won't be taking AF1 to all those out-of-town fundraisers
for a while?

He's a callous, unfeeling jerk.

3. "We need an energy policy that encourages consumption"
Remember that, everybody?

We need gas to travel, and to grow and harvest and safely ship the quantity of crops... and to get those Briney Spears CDs...

4. Let me guess
He said that as he was signing another tax break for purchasers of new Hummers and Gigantic sized SUVs.

How about signing an emergency bill that any charge of over $3.00 per gallon goes to Hurricane relief. Wishful thinking I know.

not up to date, but $3.00-a-gallon is already here. I wish I had time to superimpose a chart of which party was in office during which period. Another reason why Dems are good for the entire economy.
