Mr. McClellan, you are wrong. Now start answering the questions.

In today's press conference, Scott McClellan was asked about the administration failures that have exacerbated the catastrophe in the Gulf Coast.

McClellan quickly ended that line of questioning.

He claimed that now is not the time for finger-pointing, and we should focus on saving lives.

No finger-pointing? Well then how about some responsibility, Scott?

Are you air-lifting stranded survivors from roofs in New Orleans Scott? How do you do that from DC? Will you be bringing meals to hungry families from the White House commissary? Will you be doing the job of our absent and otherwise occupied National Guard, defending citizens from the small armed mobs? And the only sandbagging I see you doing is from your podium in Washington, which is nowhere near the broken levees your administration ignored.

You are not saving anyone's life, Scott. And unless you get down to Biloxi or write a check to the Red Cross, You can't

Scott, it is the job of every politician on the ground, and every rescue worker to focus completely on rescue and assistance and we must allow them to do it, but your only job is to answer questions, and it is the job of the press to report them.

You are not a politician, you are not a rescue worker.

Please answer the questions.

And to any of the press not on the ground in the Gulf Coast region: do not let him stop you, America needs to know the extent of negligence and incompetence that has created the unbelievable suffering of our citizens. We need the information. Do not be stopped by a defense that is true (and desperately so) for only--and the emphasis is on only--those directly involved in planning and rescue.

The press and media across America are rising to the occasion. We who have criticized you also applaud your courage and professionalism. And yes, even some reporters on FOX News have broken out. We are behind you.

We need you.

miles o'brien on cnn was drilling the governor of mississippi, (repub) about how the Federal government was doing its job, and like a faithful man he said the government was doing a great job.

Reporters on the scene would do better to just report what they see and not bother the politicians.

If folks are lacking something, report on that and let them know what's needed. That's more powerful than asking "How are ya' doin, boss?"

Reporters there can see what's going on, just report on that and the rest will follow.
