You would think that the RNC might time something like this a little better. But, you're right -- priorities -- they must not care about the timing. Hell... they probably think anyone getting that letter won't give a rat's ass what's going on down in NO, anyway. Better get them before a moment of weakness makes them send that good, green money off to the Red Cross....

Prior to the present 'temporary' repeal of the 'death tax', the exemptions for a working couple; ie- the pre-inheritance exemptions were over 1.2 million dollars.

In other words, unless you died with 1.2 million dollars in taxable assets (not life insurance and not other exempt assets), you didn't pay inheritance taxes anyway.

The repeal of the inheritance tax benefits ONLY the rich.

Your 'hardworkin' Amurkins' weren't going to pay the tax anyway.
