Zombie fuckstick Chertoff is "well aware of the desperate cries for help"
Big Easy refugees wonder where the help is
Federal government defends disaster response as adequate

With so much suffering and so many urgent pleas for help, nearly everyone still left in New Orleans is asking the same questions: “Where is the help? Why isn't more being done?”

Insisting he's well aware of the desperate cries for help, Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff said Thursday the government is responding to a catastrophe spread over 90,000 square miles.

“For those who wonder why it is that it is difficult to get these supplies and these medical teams into place,” said Chertoff, “the answer is, they are battling an ongoing, dynamic problem with the water.”

As for what it is doing, the Coast Guard said it has rescued more than 3,000 people. And more than 13,000 National Guard troops are now deployed in Louisiana and Mississippi, with thousands more coming. “I am satisfied that we have not only enough,” insisted Chertoff, “but more than enough forces there and on the way.”

3. Yes I heard this bastards interview. My executive summary of it is
that he was saying in not so many words: "You greedy pigs should be grateful we are doing anything."

No compassion, no vision, no acknowledgment of the scale of the catastrophe.

Just butt covering.

4. "Response is "ADEQUATE." Let me just say I would be adequately
in favor of you getting your fuckwit, CYA, lame duck lovin' ass down there to clean the toilets at the Civic Center and the Superdome.

Is my response ADEQUATE enough for you?

5. NPR Interview with Chertoff: U.S. Aid Effort Criticized in New Orleans
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4828771

All Things Considered, September 1, 2005

· Days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall east of New Orleans, thousands remain stranded in the city, many without food or fresh water. The city's mayor has issued what he called an "Urgent SOS" for help.

Heavily armed National Guard troops evacuated people from the squalid conditions of the damaged Superdome; the evacuees are being bused to the Astrodome in Houston.

But it has now emerged that people stranded at the New Orleans Convetion Center -- about eight blocks away from the Superdome -- are in dire straights, lacking basic essentials and avoiding corpses and waste on the streets.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff is overseeing the biggest recovery operation in U.S. history. President Bush is proposing $10 billion in relief for the area.

In this interview Chertoff kept avoiding Robert Seigel's reports of NPR reporter at the Convention Center. Chertoff kept saying people should go to where there is food and water that has already been delivered (HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW? THERE'S NO POWER!)
