Such articles as this should be shown to America to show the true nature of the "right."

I get Newsmax news updates just to see what utter garbage they are printing.

Rep. Peter King: Gangs Blocking Relief Efforts

Armed gangs of roaming thugs are the primary reason relief efforts in flood-ravaged New Orleans have been delayed, a prominent New York congressman said Friday morning.

"The main problem in obstructing the relief operation - it's almost like a Mogadishu-like gang situation that's prevailing in New Orleans," Rep. Peter King told WABC Radio's John Gambling.

"It's hard to get federal troops in to bring about order when the local police have broken down," he added. "I just think the situation would have gone a lot better if there were a Rudy Giuliani down there - someone who could have set a firm tone from day one."

5. How stupid
There is no proof of gang activity. A firm tone didn't need to be set. A message of hope is what was needed. W never gave it. He doesn't do well with certain segments.

10. Are they expecting thing to get better to bring in relief??? Catch 22
No troops brings violence so if you have violence it's too dangerous for the troops.

I seem to remember the police started leaving on day 3. Gee, maybe if they had their 6100 NG who are in Iraq on day -1, things would not have deterioted so much.

They are not bring in food and water because of gangs? They were hoping the gang members would die of starvation before they brought food to the people?

11. What makes him an expert on what went down in NO?
Was he on the scene?

This asshole is the same one who knew Bush won before they counted the votes.

This is inciting class warfare....in the open. Comparing our citizens to a tribal culture in a different country? Why does this guy hate America so much? I wonder how many of those "roaming thugs" were Iraqi vets? Did King ever serve?

We need to amp this one folks....

12. We spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined
If a few ghetto gangsters can stop disaster relief effort, then there is something seriously wrong with out commitment to the relief effort

Kind of like downing a helicopter by throwing rocks at it.

13. "Anybody but Bush"
How interesting that the Republicans are using the same motto of Democrats in 2004 in order to find someone to blame for this disaster:

"Anybody but Bush"

Sorry, that ship has sailed.

They will try to blame Governor Blanco (she's a Democrat, and a woman!), but the truth is that the feds never delivered the help SHE requested.
