Is it time to stop arguing with Bush supporters?
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 07:18 PM by Jade Fox
At this point maybe the only response to those still defending Bush is
to say, "Cut the crap. Bush has been a disaster for this country, and
you know it!" and walk away.

At this point even bothering to validate these folks by listening to them
feels like enabling their idiocy.

4. Yes.
There is no sense arguing with the supporters he has left. You'd be better off trying to reason with a brick wall.

Just tell them you don't have time for their ignorance and move along.

14. Plus I truely believe they KNOW....
that Bush has pushed this country to the brink. If no one takes their
nonsense seriously, they may be forced out of denial.

27. That is what I do, no more arguing
I protest with Code Pink OC every Wednesday night. But I will no longer justify my position any longer if someone still doesn't get it. I now simply say that perhaps it would be better if they all went back to their home planet and create PNAC there. That's it.

12. I tell them they are loyal to their party, not their Nation.
I also tell them to get to the recruiters office, so they can fight in the "culture war" in Iraq.

Your point is well-taken. Bush supporters at this late date are true kool-aid drinkers and will go down with the ship. Arguing with them is sure frustration, because they always go back to "it's Clinton's fault." Idiots. Too bad the rest of us have to suffer for living with these fools.

Point out the obvious, tell them they're practicing sophistry, and jet. Done. They're arguments stand on air. or rather, flood water. Neoconservatism has proved itself to be a disastrous social experiment.

21. The Republicans I know admit that Bush is a fuckup
but have no pattern recognition skills and really, really low expectations. They'll end up voting for someone who will do just what Bush has done. They still cleave to their conservative ideals and their party. They get angry because they hate feeling like they have to defend Bush (I mean, they only voted for him, after all!:sarcasm:).

Don't necessarily argue with them, but don't ever give up EXPLAINING how things really work and how things are NOT the way Republicans would like them appear to be. It takes perserverance and effort to wake people up to change.
