Poll: Bush Not Taking Brunt of Katrina Criticism
Hurricane Preparedness Is Faulted; Fewer Blame Bush for Problems
Analysis by GARY LANGER
ABC News

Sept. 4, 2005 — Americans are broadly critical of government preparedness in the Hurricane Katrina disaster — but far fewer take George W. Bush personally to task for the problems, and public anger about the response is less widespread than some critics would suggest.

In an event that clearly has gripped the nation — 91 percent of Americans are paying close attention — hopefulness far outweighs discontent about the slow-starting rescue. And as in so many politically charged issues in this country, partisanship holds great sway in views of the president's performance.

...

Partisanship, as noted, plays a huge role: Nearly three-quarters of Republicans approve of the president's performance, and two-thirds rate the government's overall response positively. About seven in 10 Democrats take the opposite view on both scores.

...

Bush's Response to Katrina
Approve Disapprove
All 46% 47%
Democrats 17 71
Independents 44 48
Republicans 74 22

3. I guess this means no Congressional investigation
Two-thirds of Rs think everything went peachy. Do the American people think this group should run the country?

4. In a national crisis W should be polling 70% approve
Just based on folks rallying around the flag, he should be surging in the polls.

Instead, Captain Clusterfuck, our wannabe-war-hero president is suffering politically as his cronies fuck up the situation more and he demonstrates his own total lack of compassion.

That's why he's still more disapprove than approve. It won't get any better for him.

As for the republicans who approve, the kool-aid drinkers will continue to hear about this fuck up for months, as individual stories come out. Fox is ignoring it, but most of MSM is not.

Some of these guys will wake up.

6. The Corporate coverup begins.
These people desperately need Bush in office so that they can continue to ream us on the price of everything. Remember hurricane season is not over and 25% of our nations economy is MIA.

In three months we will have to deal with heating homes in the winter with 20 percent less fuel. That will NOT be fun and you can count on deaths there.

Welcome to the shitstorm.

7. As I said in another post: Bush is the most perfect, blameless leader
since Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.

:eyes:

He also has the same kind of state media propaganda bubble these three had, helping to shield him from any accountability.

8. Polls= manufactured reality. They'll raise the numbers week by week
and you'll buy it. Good to cover stolen elections, major blunders and all reality.
