An Urgent Message to The Lurking Democratic Party Leaders:
We know you are monitoring this forum and we want to make our message clear.

Regardless of your reasons for not vocalizing the outrage and demand for immediate accountability shared unanimously by your constituency (the American citizens who have chosen the Democratic Party,) we are fully aware that whichever reason you have chosen is self-centered at its core.

Your primary purpose as elected officials is to do nothing less than to serve and protect those who you represent. I am afraid that as each moment that you lay back and “see how this plays out” is a moment spent in direct opposition to the rights and dignity the American people, and further is a moment in which you should feel and suffer the deepest shame.

The message you are sending to all of us who were blessed by our geographic distance from this travesty of American government, those of us who have been scrambling for days to gather resources and basic necessity to offset the President’s ignorance and complete failure to fulfill his primary purpose is deplorable.

The message you would be sending to the citizens of this nation who have fallen victim to a complete governmental failure if they had a television, radio, or newspaper is nothing short of an institutional atrocity.

As you stew in your own putrid decadence and surround yourselves with statisticians and advisors, people, once dignified, once beautiful, once accounted for, are being devoured by vermin as their loved ones are lying on a cement floor doing everything they can to put that horrible reality out of their minds.

They are our loved ones.

They have names and will be missed.

They must be avenged in spite of you.

We have been inundated by the mainstream’s message of “now is not the time to discuss these matters;” I say to all of you now. Now is the time. These despicable men and women, these monsters who have purposefully failed to love and protect the “least of us” are now supposedly taking control of the situation. By this we are outraged and will not stand for it.

I say to you now, Mr. Biden, Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Byrd, I say to all of you, you had better comply with the demands of your constituency or face reprisal. America is not immune to revolt nor revolution. Should you remain silent on this issue, be warned that these transitions are inevitable. Your constituents will stand for your silence no more. Be warned that we are many and we are watching.

Heed the following message as it is the raw voice of your constituency:

We, the people of the Democratic Electorate, with the intent to restore the justice, dignity, and full privilege to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as granted and guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America, demand the immediate removal of the President of the United States, Vice President, and his cabinet as a direct result of our first hand witness of the gross and unmitigated incompetence displayed in response to the national crisis. Further, we demand accountability upon removal of each individual liable for the criminal negligence pursuant to the tangible results of said institutional incompetence regardless of party affiliation.

Contingent to our primary demands, we request the immediate halt of any proceeding, committee, or vote that bares no relevance to the national crisis, the military operations abroad, or the basic stability of the government structure under the Constitution.

Second, we demand the creation of a separate federal department with specific purpose to assist the nationwide absorption and swift assimilation of the citizens displaced by the natural disaster and government negligence for which they have greatly suffered.

Lastly, we request that each government representative in the house and senate volunteer at least one subordinate to research and create a timeline of factual negligence and deliberate deceit from a period no shorter than five (5) days before the forecasted hurricane and no shorter than sixty (60) days after. Once this information is compiled, we request the formation of a special committee to study the compiled information, prosecute accountable government officials, and make recommendations for future avoidance of such negligence.

We demand your action on this matter immediately and shall not tolerate delay of these demands.

In closing, all of you who are lurking here had better go upstairs and tell your bosses that they are facing a national revolt. I beg of you not to assume that this American disgrace will be quelled by the thought that we are fickle and will “calm down.” We are wide-awake now as are many moderates and Republicans and we are circling our wagons.

Your aversion to demanding immediate accountability coupled with your attempts to subvert the primary reason for the death and devastation of millions of poor, black, and elderly people can and should be perceived as a gathering threat against the fundamental structure of your institutions. We are watching and we will only wait for a short while longer.

To all non-governmental readers:

I implore all who agree with this article to copy it and post it on your respective websites, print it and mail it to your representatives, and “sign it” by reply.

Your government has failed you and it is up to all of us to restore the lives, rights, and dignity of the citizens who have felt the brunt of this horrid failure.

5. Don't give up without even trying. One of these days,
they'll have to "wake up" and when they'll do, they better start working FOR the people (taxpayers or poor) who pay them, and WITH the people who elect them. And if they refuse to do their job:

FIRE 'EM ONCE AND FOR ALL!

I'm signing the OP in the name of my sister and her American kids in FL. :patriot:

Thanks! :applause:

succeed

Ask any heroic personality out there (or cited in history books).

So thank you for never giving up on hope and keep working for it if you can!

Peace :hippie:

3. ABSOLUTELY! We've been saying this for a long time, and
constantly for the last week! If they're silent, they will be voted out!!! It doesn't matter what their job is supposed to be. What matters to them is keeping their job, and ignoring us will cause them to lose it!

But this tragedy transends politics. Don't let Republicans off the hook either. Every Bush voter I know is equally outraged by what they now see as a total failure by the 'National Security President'. That was why they voted for him.

So, every, single public official who is silent, or in the case of Republicans, who becomes an apologist for this failure of leadership, needs to know that the American people are not going to put party before the lives of their citizens. This was the limit. Former family feuds over Bush V Democrats, melted away this week, as ALL of us, decent Republicans and Democrats alike, watched helplessly and in horror as (according to the news this morning) maybe 10,000 American citizens died for lack of water ~

Were it not that the press finally did its job, breaking out of the constraints which have shamefully been imposed on them over the past five years, many, many more people would have died while this administration played golf, strummed, ate cake, shopped while their citizens starved, drowned and begged for help.

We will not forget this ~ this cannot be spun. Heads need to have rolled yesterday. All I see are inpcompetent, pathetic, apologists, like Chertoff, trying to hold on to their jobs. YOU ALL, Repubs and Dems alike need to take action now, or we the people must install an entirely new government.

This country has been shamed, by the Iraq War, by the looting of the treasury at the highest levels, by the looting of Iraq's treasury, by Torture, by its neglect of the poor, the gutting of social programs that help the least among us, and we are witnessing the results of these policies and the silence or compliance of the 'opposition party'. It's late, but something can still be done. This must NOT be swept under the rug as the Iraq War lies have been ~

If we ever could say I told ya so it is now. Their policies which favor the rich SCREW EVERYONE ELSE!!! We have an audience now.

The conservatives used 9/11 to promote their agenda of selfishness, death and war. Now it is our turn to do it for life, healthcare, social justice and civil rights for all.

The GOP as we know it is DEAD. They have no choice but to move to the LEFT.

24. I got some serious hate mail about this post:
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 07:27 PM by CrackpotAmerica
I won't dignify the senders by repeating.

Let me just say a few things to those who disagree so vigorously:

1. As much as some of your words anger me, I shall always maintain my respect for your opinions. Please refrain from personal attacks as you do not know me.

2. I have no ulterior motives. Rather, my PRIMARY MOTIVE is to encourage the removal of George W. Bush from office. Therefore, I suspended the site that advertises my service and put what is currently there in its place.

3. As I read republican blogs but have the courtesy not to post personal attacks against the members of those forums, I ask that you do the same for me. If you disagree with what I am saying, please point that out; but please, do not assume that I am a "mouthpiece" or "puppet" for anyone. I am an Individual and I expect to be treated as such.

4. If you haven't the foresight to point out specific examples in my writings that you take issue with, do not bother to send me hate mail. I read about one sentence and If there is no thesis by that time, I promptly delete it.~ I already know what an "a**hole" I am and don't need constant reminders of it.

Thanks!

27. Also, I should say:
My "PRIMARY MOTIVE" has been superseded by my desire and personal efforts (and those of my wife) to help the victims of this tragedy. However, I firmly believe that our demand for accountability is part of that.

Unbelievable!

<snip>

But there were complaints that some refugees, hauled out of the city in desperate condition, were being refused safe haven in some places, including some that said they already were filled beyond capacity with storm victims. New Orleans City Council President Oliver Thomas blasted the city of Baton Rouge and other Louisiana communities for what he called a callous refusal to take in refugees from his devastated city.
