Excuse me. But as a human being… I am overwhelmingly appalled by the atrocities in our Gulf Coast. The sheer disregard of human life, the unfathomable amount of unnecessary suffering, death, & destruction. It pierces the very core of my soul… and as I (like most of you) watched the horrors unfold there, right before my eyes, I felt a bit of my faith and trust in humanity erode. These people were left to die.

So, excuse me as this tragedy, now a week later continues on… for being unwilling and unable to defer my outrage until Im told its time to feel it. But no political agenda deserves priority (for me) over appropriate human responses to the torture of other humans. As beings with conscience we are right and moral to feel this way. And it is natural, better yet, necessary to direct outrage toward those who have done this to US. And if we, as humans, as a country, and especially as Democrats, are unable to recognize and /or embrace the existence of genuine emotion without twisting it to make it "fit" then I cant help but wonder if there’s any hope left, for any of us, at all. Sad.

1. Great Post,
Yes now is the time to criticize, now is the time to make sure everyone know where the failure lies.

If anyone else were president this would have been taken care of on Tuesday, not Friday.
Any other president would have called the Governor of LA or the Mayor of NOLA and said what can I do to help, I will do everything I can to get the relief in there.
This regime we call a government must be stopped.

2. Thank you.
Humanity is the thing that sets us apart from "them". We should be proud to have it. Such blatant disregard for human life should horrify us all.
