The buck stops......at subordinates
Never. Never. Never in my lifetime have I seen a POTUS less willing to take personal responsibility.

All failures are blamed on subordinates.

Blaming this disaster in New Orleans on a mere mayor and lowly state officials is beyond belief. Of course, the head of FEMA will be sacrificed...that's a given.

While most have low expectations of this POTUS based on past performance, this sank to a new low. Tragically incompetent yet frantically searching for the new scapegoat.:grr:

1. It won't help.
They are HIS appointees. HE is responsible. We all know this - even his supporters. That's why many of the Republicans are keeping their heads down. As it becomes apparent that Bush has lost all moral authority and respect in this nation, more and more Republicans will abandon Bush. His already low poll numbers will descend to Nixonesque levels. Resignation would be best, but it is beyond his ability to admit a wrong and pay the price. Impeachment is not out of the question, though.

2. Agreed...
I was so outraged when reading the Wash Post article late last night when I found it. The spin is in full swing with these guys and they're NEVER culpable. Well, I'm going to do my damn best to pass the word far & wide that I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. I want a president who's a leader and who accepts responsibility, not a flipping 12 yr old in a 59 yr old body.

3. Why would any one think it would be any other way? Look
at how Bush has lived his life.

4. Do the Gov and Mayor deserve any blame?
The feds, Brown and Bush, fairly deserve blame, but I think the Gov and Mayor do too. Am I wrong about this?

5. I'm sure there are plenty of "little people" to blame
But the ultimate accountability for the pre-emptive funding cuts and the subsequent tragedy that unfolded in the days and days and days and days following the hurricane lies with the POTUS.

6. You would not include Brown, head of FEMA, as one of the
"little people" would you?

I take that you agree that the NO mayor and LA gov deserve a fair amount of the blame?

Who would be the "little people" you think may be fairly blamed for how the tragedy occurred?

7. Brown is the "APPOINTED people"
Appointed by none other than GWB.
Cuts in federal budget for levees...GWB.
Lack of required FEDERAL response to SOS from mayor and Gov....GWB

Is the responsibility for Federal action in a disaster dependent on terrorists? Would their response have been more prompt if the levee were blown up? I think not. Homeland security, pfff. Pathetic.
