My e-mail to Keith Olbermann.

Keith,

I just caught word via Democratic Underground (http://www.democraticunderground.com/) that on this evening’s broadcast, you called for Bush’s impeachment.

You don’t have any idea how many people support you on this.

Currently, DU has 76,078 members…and that number grows DAILY.

I invite you to become a member. You might be one already…we just don’t know it. Elizabeth Edwards is a member...so is John Kerry's stepson Chris Heinz.

When we see Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera at the point of TEARS on Fox, we KNOW the tide has turned. Enough is enough. Enough of Bush strumming his guitar. Enough of him sucking the birthday cake off of his fingers. ENOUGH of five week vacations while dead bodies float on the coast of new orleans. ENOUGH.

People DIED.

YOU, my friend, need to keep doing what you are DOING.

And AT LEAST 76,078 people will be BEHIND YOU.

but the message surely must be appreciated.

One of the points Keith made is that a LOT of politicians dropped the ball on this one...regardless of party. And I don't recall him calling for any impeachment.

What he did say is that in social studies class, we all learn that the president is our president, whether we voted for him or not...but that after last week, he thinks a lot more people just can't share that sentiment anymore.

MHO, I think for KO sake more than anything, one has to be careful not to put words in his mouth (not saying the OP did, he was repeating what had been posted her on several threads. Loved the letter!)

As you said, he didn't call for impeachment, I didn't hear a call for resignation either.

The RW sound machine would love to say he did and bang the drums for his resignation.

...and I should have waited for the rebroadcast.

At any rate, I stand behind the spirit of the e-mail.

kudos for KO ! The MSM is being watched by the world too.

but I did go back and rewatch my tape and no, he didn't call for impeachment or resignation.

But that having been said, it was a blistering condemnation of how this whole situation has been handled by politicians of all stripes...including the guy at the top.

Video of it is all over the place. Everyone should watch it. The blogged text is powerful, but the video is even more powerful because of the way he says it.

Next time, I'll send the e-mail when I see the show, not when a couple of over-zealous DUers post the recap.
