Dear Mrs. Herbert Walker Bush......
Mrs. Bush,

Watching you get air time on national television is like being interrupted by a carnival barker during Taps. You shouldn`t bother. I suggest you get back to your favorite spare-time activity, counting gold ingots in the drawing room.

If it was up to me, I`d fit you with one of those electronic ankle bracelets like Martha Stewart wore, just to get a handle on your whereabouts. I wouldn`t let you mingle with regular people because of your serious parenting failures which produced that Born-Again Psycho in the White House. You are one cold woman.

Now you tell us that Louisiana`s evacuees are "better off" because they`re in Texas? Why? Is that where their families are? Is that where they keep their childhood photos and their favorite houseplants? Is that where their dog is, their grandfather`s hammer?
You mean the Christmas decoration their six-year old made is in Texas? Right beside their best old slippers? Underneath the blanket they were knitting for their new Grandbaby?

Here`s a suggestion. Next time you want to share your humorous quips with America, stop yourself. Just say no. I don`t care how many sets of Norman Rockwell pearls you own, I don`t want to hear any more from you. Instead, go to a bunch of yard sales until you find an old copy of Dr. Spock. Turn to the chapter on blowing up frogs. Read it. Read it again.

if she has something they want. Just like you would take guidance from a scientist if you were a student. The neocons dreamed aloud that they wanted "prissy, protestant, patrician patsy" to be their President - in 1965. They found it in her family. Twice.

Hey Barbara! You didn't take care of the shit in your own family - you were given power - and look what happened to New Orleans!

I personally like the last few lines about the Dr. Spock book and the frogs. So true.

Does she not realize that her son is a sociopathic misfit?

It seems like they all come out of the woodwork when one is in trouble, to put on a good face. They should be ashamed to show their faces.

Yesterday, it was frogs--today it's hurricane victims.

people are. The very same people who do not like Barbara Bush are very angry with the Bush WH tonight.

Barbara was the bait they need. They desperately have to make themselves & their president look like the victim. That is what sociopaths do when they have been found out.

We attack her because she is so trite and shallow, and because we are angry. And tomorrow - a pity party for Bush as he defends his mommy.

29. Barbara Bush's parenting skills as viewed by a psychologist
Barbara Bush is described by her closest intimates as prone to "withering stares" and "sharply crystalline" retorts. She is also extremely tough. When he was seven, Bush's younger sister, Robin, died of leukaemia and several independent witnesses say he was very upset by this loss. Barbara claims its effect was exaggerated but nobody could accuse her of overreacting: the day after the funeral, she and her husband were on the golf course.

She was the main authority-figure in the home. Jeb describes it as having been, "A kind of matriarchy... when we were growing up, dad wasn't at home. Mom was the one to hand out the goodies and the discipline." A childhood friend recalls that,"She was the one who instilled fear", while Bush put it like this: "Every mother has her own style. Mine was a little like an army drill sergeant's... my mother's always been a very outspoken person who vents very well - she'll just let rip if she's got something on her mind." According to his uncle, the "letting rip" often included slaps and hits. Countless studies show that boys with such mothers are at much higher risk of becoming wild, alcoholic or antisocial.

On top of that, Barbara added substantially to the pressure from his father to be a high achiever by creating a highly competitive family culture. All the children's games, be they tiddlywinks or baseball, were intensely competitive - an actual "family league table" was kept of performance in various pursuits. At least this prepared him for life at Andover, where emotional literacy was definitely not part of the curriculum. Soon after arriving, he was asked to write an essay on a soul-stirring experience in his life to date and he chose the death of his sister. His mother had drilled it into him that it was wrong when writing to repeat words already used. Having employed "tears" once in the essay, he sought a substitute from a thesaurus she had given him and wrote "the lacerates ran down my cheeks". The essay received a fail grade, accompanied by derogatory comments such as "disgraceful".

64. I'm sure Babs got her revenge on the mistress at some point.
The woman had a townhouse in Georgetown. Don't know whether she's still alive or not, but she never sold/told her story. The secret service guys who drove him there were known to gossip about it. But back then the press observed a "gentleman's agreement" not to print anything about it. Given what everyone saw of Babs, they all probably figured Bush Sr. desperately needed some female companionship. Many, many of the male politicians I've worked with, in both parties, were known to carry on affairs. The type of personality which needs constant adulation and agreement and kowtowing leads many to elected office AND to mistresses. Once elected, their ego grows with every passing year. I feel very sorry for their spouses. The big difference between political mistresses, is that Republicans tend to choose women from their own social set or level - sophisticated enough to be discreet and wealthy enough(like lobbyists) not to sell their stories to the tabloids, even if discovered. Not always the case of course, both Rs and Ds prey on interns, secretaries, etc.

35. Why is it that her comments are simply reported as "humorous"?
I remember during the '04 elections, she said that if she ran into Kerry he'd deserve another purple heart. She also said then that she'd like to kill those who questioned her son. But what got the news coverage? Teresa Heinz-Kerry's "shove it". Most Republicans I knew didn't even know about Barb's barbs but they thought they knew plenty about Heinz-Kerry. That dang liberal media!!

39. Back when George was drinking, Babs told a friend
that he suffered from a severe case of rectal optosis.

Shitty outlook on life.

Think I read that in an old Texas Monthly article.

But I often recall it when she speaks or he does. Everyone I've met here in Houston that knows the family, tells me that Georgie is his mother's son through and through. Poppie is often embarrassed by them, they say. They offend his blue blood sensibilities. I suspect he shares their narrow-minded views, but wishes they'd be more "New England" in their expression.

50. On the topic of blowing up frogs:
http://www.hsus.org/hsus_field/first_strike_the_connection_between_animal_cruelty_and_human_violence/children_and_animal_cruelty_what_parents_should_know.html

Children and Animal Cruelty: What Parents Should Know

As natural "explorers," don't all children sometimes harm animals?

Absolutely not. While some children kill insects, few torture pets or other small creatures. If allowed to harm animals, children are more likely to be violent later in life. Animal cruelty, like any other violence, should never be attributed to a stage of development.

What kind of children are cruel to animals?

Serious or repeated animal cruelty is seen more often in boys than in girls. Children as young as four may harm animals, but such behavior is most common during adolescence. Cruelty is often associated with children who do poorly in school and have low self-esteem and few friends. Children who are cruel to animals are often characterized as bullies and may have a history of truancy, vandalism, and other antisocial behaviors.

What does animal cruelty indicate about family dynamics?

Researchers say that a child's violence against animals often represents displaced hostility and aggression stemming from neglect or abuse of the child or of another family member. Animal cruelty committed by any member of a family, whether parent or child, often means child abuse occurs in that family.

<snip>

What is the difference between innocent exploration and calculated animal cruelty?

Innocent exploration may come of simple curiosity, but calculated animal cruelty is motivated by a desire to harm. While even innocent acts of cruelty should be addressed, it is particularly important to intervene when a child is insensitive to the obvious distress of an animal, repeats a harmful behavior, or derives pleasure from causing an animal pain.

Anybody notice a pattern?

Thanks for the crumbs from your table, Marie Antoinette.

What a bitch! What a bitch!!! Did you see her telling larry king how everybody's coming up to her telling her how much they admire her evil spawn?

Listening to her for one minute gives one a little understanding of how george learned to be so "compassionate," and where he got it from. From her and her "beautiful mind." BTW - did you see Olbermann quoting her? He put that quote up in a graphic, reading it off-camera as it appeared onscreen. Then they cut back to him and he had this facial expression that implies that he smelled something really noxious.

Smarmy old maggot. Miserable excuse for a human being. Just like her son. The First Dog-Dropper genuinely is a son-of-a-bitch.

Bravo also to the author of this letter. It is truly magnificent.

From the post regarding blowing up frogs, I have always wondered if Babs was a child abuser, not that I would ever look for any excuse for that drunken frat boy. Small wonder that the dimwit drank himself into oblivion for 20 years though.

What I want to know is why didn't his father or some other relative intervene when they heard that he was running for president. The Republican party has some well deserved egg on the face because of that drunken, brain damaged moron. They deserve him & what he delivers!
