9. We can certainly revoke their charters.
Corporations were never intended to have anything like the power that they do now.

this is what I have been asking my Reps for since last Wednesday. Hey DU'ers, let's get behind this Bill and ram it through, and anyone who doesn't go along we know they side with the Bu$H Cabal and hate the rest of America, From A to Z. Thank you for the post LSK and thank you Senator Dorgan!!! I am placing a call to his office and emailing him the same.

GET it going folks!

5. Fuckin' A
Did any of you hear about what allegedly happened on O'Liely? He had an oil exec. on and asked him, "Why can't the oil companies take a 20% cut in their profits to help America get through this?" And this smug, smarmy asshole (fat white guy) says, "Bill, it doesn't work like that... We can't make money if we take a 20% cut. O'Liely, for ONCE in his miserable life, was PISSED! He stopped just short of calling the guy a liar, but the point was made.

10. our first job is to educate the American people
they need to understand just how corrupting Big Oil has become ... i doubt any of the Dems will have the courage to say that's why we went into Iraq but Dorgan's statement is a great start ...

the response from the right will be:
first, ignore it ... maybe it will just go away ...
if other Democrats get on board, all hell will break lose ...
they'll try to paint the Democrats as anti-business ...
they'll try to paint them as not understanding the fierce competition there is for new sources of oil with India and China
they'll paint them as interfering with Big Oil's reinvestment program for research on alternative energy sources

if the Democratic Party chooses to rise up together to fight this battle in a meaningful way, the counter-balance to all of the above SHOULD NOT be a "pocketbook" justification only ... it needs to go further than that ... we have to make the case NOT that BIG OIL should have to sacrifice for the country (e.g. to "help out" with high gas prices) but rather that the government has become totally corrupted by BIG OIL and has exploited the American military and the American people to feather their own greedy nests ...

you either engage this battle or you continue to cower ... there is no middle ground ... it is time to reclaim this country for the American people ... if the fight is only over "pump sticker shock", it's going to be a very short battle and ultimately nothing will change ...

11. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, complainers.
Too bad this won't be on the evening news where everyone can see it.
