why is the Senate passing a resolution expressing sympathy???
Is there some legal benefits to passing this? I am sure that they all feel some sympathy, but why is there a need to vote on it?? Arnt they wasting time?? What am I missing?

1. Nothing, unfortunately.
Frist does not seem in a hurry to pass any benefit.

"We are sorry it happened, but lets delay doing anything about it"

6. It's the Senate's way of expressing itself. They do it all the time
Nothing new.

Their own moment of silence as it were. Some here I've seen asking why the flags weren't at half mast or why there wasn't a day or mourning. In terms of help for the victims, those are just as "useless" and "time-wasting".

Nevertheless, we do appreciate them.

8. It's their job. Is as long as they follow it with solid measures.
