It was my understanding that NO was what made LA blue, the rest of the state is pretty conservative. If everyone from NO relocates to TX, LA could become a red state. And there aren't enough Democrates from NO to convert TX to a blue state.

1. Texas has more electoral votes anyway. Blue folks from LA have more
pull if they turn Texas! And BUSHCO shenanigans the past month and a half have probably made for some blue converts in TX, LA, MS, and AL.

Remember: 'bush* don't need to be president no mo!' Music to my ears coming out of a young man in Mississippi!

2. Thom Hartmann spoke on the same topic yesterday
He said LA would go red. The spillover into TX wouldn't be enough to turn TX blue.

7. Louisiana is already a red state.
Why did you think it was blue?

New Orleans is blue, but the STATE is decisively red.

8. Except when Clinton beat Dole.
I think all states due west of the Mississippi river went blue that year.

12. Clinton won most of the Southern states, but that hasn't
been true since 2000, with or without the Supreme Court and Diebold.

Tennessee and Virginia also have Dem governors, but I haven't heard anyone assume we're blue states (I'm in TN).

13. This could help Kinky Friedman run for Governor.

From his web site.

Good People, here’s the deal:

IF YOU VOTE IN EITHER PRIMARY – FOR ANY CANDIDATE, FOR ANY POSITION, YOU CANNOT SIGN THE PETITION! - That’s why we say “Save your Vote for Kinky.” Texas is the ONLY state in the union with these restrictions.

This is a pool of folks that he needs.

14. What about DeLay?
We need to get rid of this scum, seems alot of evacuees are currently in or around his district.... it could help to get rid of that vermin!

If any of you can do it, get them jobs and lives in Sugarland... mostly to help them, but it will address the rat infestation problem
