It used to be there was right and wrong. I know it’s more complicated than that. I know about the shades of gray and all but it used to be that when you did something wrong and you were in public service the people you served knew that it was wrong or that it was right if that were the case. Now there is only “party loyalty” that’s when you are loyal to your party even unto death, not your death, but the death of others. Now it doesn’t matter if you are right or wrong as long as you get the “talking points” from your party and you repeat them ad nauseum. A great example of this right now is Senator Cornyn, from Texas, he along with many others, keep saying this phrase "don't play the blame game." Which is really kind of heartless given the consequences of the Federal Government's failure to respond to Hurricane Katrina and seeing as how it's the fault of his party that the levee broke. Yeah, he keeps saying that like we are playing some game. I say, it's not a blame game it's accountability for this immense failure that is obvious to everyone but Bush and his people. Nonetheless, Senator Cornyn, keeps saying that phrase over and over no doubt infuriating some Americans who still have their conscience. See, it’s kind of like in high school when you were a popular kid you had to do some things that hurt other people’s feelings, you had to be mean and rude you know to fit in with the “right” crowd. Only it’s all grown up now and the rudeness and meanness got worse – way worse. It was alright though because you were popular so you just shove your conscience somewhere way down deep and do these hateful things.
