Dean is a sell-out because he won't say "asshole" or "motherfucker".
We've been betrayed again. When will we get our party back?

I'm tired of all this pussyfooting around the issue, someone needs to take Bush* to task NOW, and not this soft approach of saying something that simply brings up the issue and doesn't become a further distraction by sparking a dialogue in the media about politicians using curse words or getting red in the face. Just because you take Bush* to task and say the government failed people (which is as much as DLC Clinton did when he stood next to the neocons to try to help flood victims instead of throwing a fit and trying to get the media to cover that instead), doesn't mean you speak for me by AIDING and ABETTING Bush* by being "polite" and not saying "asshole" and "motherfucker".

Dr. Dean, there are seven words you can't say on television, and of those only one you have to avoid to prevent the posts from being locked when people quote you here I SUGGEST YOU USE THEM. :grr: :wtf:

NOTE: This post is sarcastic.

4. I know this is sarcastic, but if Dean called Bush...
an incompetent motherfucker, or a fucking loser, or a shiteating jackass, or any number of other things, not only would liberals everywhere cheer, but the media would echo it all over the world.

It would be like Bush's Adam Clymer comment on crack and steroids.

Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 02:41 PM by LoZoccolo
Most people do not spend as much time watching politics or spend so much time on the Internet, for one.

I actually think that's the crux of the problem, people thinking that everyone else thinks like them and that politicians should cater to their own tastes as a result.

34. You're like a broken record...
...and can't seem to resist parroting the talking points of the DLC. They also insist that 'internet activists' don't in any way represent the 'real world'. What the hell is this supposed to mean?

Why would our ideals and desires be different from any other Democrat, human being or American? Spending time on the internet doesn't make us any different than anyone else...just perhaps better informed.

These threads are meant as nothing more than a distraction from the real issues that confront every Democrat...every American. The REAL issues:

Our country has been taken over by fascists

They have installed an 'imperial' president

Certain Democrats are complicit and protecting BushCo

The DLC is spreading the propaganda that 'internet activists' don't represent 'real people' in an effort to discredit them and take away their voice and impact.

35. Internet activists don't even represent real-life activists, I find.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 05:43 PM by LoZoccolo
I've found through my experience with Illinois Dem Net that the people who actually do stuff are much more anchored than people who toss ideas around in a message board with little or no consequence in the real world. Talking becomes the entire game on the Internet, so pressing harder or scoring points in an environment where all people do is talk amounts to saying more and more exaggerated things, such as the idea that Clinton is in bed with the neocons. Plus I think the self-imposed impotence of sitting around complaining makes people feel more desperate, so they start off on more desperate rhetoric and the cycle continues and/or escalates.

Don't get me wrong, an Internet message board can be a great tool for people who actually do stuff, and can spread useful information...it's the people who graze here that I'm talking about.

44. What makes you different...
...from the RWing Clones that defend Bush no matter what he does or doesn't do? Call it what you will...but it's nothing more than blind loyalty to politicians that haven't earned it.

The Democratic leadership has failed us by not doing their jobs or honoring their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution. Stop making excuses for them ignoring the rule of law. Quit pretending that they're NOT allowing Bush to escape justice and accountability.

We must clean up our own house...for the sake of our party and country. The Democratic party is all that stands in the way of Bush's imperial presidency. If we can't pull off being a real loyal opposition...every American will suffer.

If people blew up because Clinton wore a red tie, and red is the color of the red states, I would not be a clone to point out that that was stupid.

No one said he needed to act like an idiot- but he does need to go on TV and call Republicans who blame the mayor "Liars"- to their faces.

He also needs to itemize all the "lies" (And use that word) that Bush has told since he caused this tradgedy.

Has Dean gone on any TV shows at all?

37. Yeah, they should have radio or tv programs.
After all, if they can't serve the highest possible purpose of undertaking the vitrolic rant suitable for an anonymous venter on an internet board, they can serve the second highest possible purpose of being media personalities.

But before that, they are being undercut BY (self declared) DEMOCRATS who say that their sole purpose and intent in life is not helping America and getting reelected. They'll have TONS of credibility, won't they?

And let's all realize that there isn't any more effective definition of issues than defining all democrats as self interested politicos who only open their mouths for the purpose of gaining higher office.
So who needs Rove when you can get that on DU every day?

How's about a Democratic forum actually backing Democrats? It may not be radical, but it is a good idea anyway.

And back it up with facts. That is all I'm saying.

They could ask Republicans to their faces- "Why do you refuse to investigate Bush for (Insert scandal here)- what are you all hiding this time?"

etc, etc, etc

I dont understand why that is such a bad idea.

That's not what the Clinton dissers on DU want. They do want the booger flicking and the cursing. They don't want Clinton to help get hurricane relief. They want BC to spit in Bush's, verbally if not literally.

And when Clinton didn't do that, well, it was because ALL CLINTON CARES ABOUT IS GETTING HILLARY ELECTED. Because Clinton isn't a booger flicking ranter, he gets the same hatred that he gets over at the freeper's place.

Of course, one has to wonder about the point of undermining Clinton as a self centered anti american evil shit the same time that he is supposed to be setting an example.

Methinks people had better fucking grow up.

See, in reality you are getting plenty of tough reaction.

But the OP's point is perfectly valid, and the next fifty posts I see where supposed "democrats" tell us that Clinton husband or wife is only doing or not doing it for a presidential election, I'm going to invite them to their friends in freeperland. It's right up there with the threads that pretend there isn't any difference between democrats and republicans on any particular issue for sheer destructive obtuse yammering.
