Why the push to evacuate New Orleans, but not other parrishes under water?

We need to get the media to start asking: WHY the push for New Orleans to be evacuated, with no chance for homeowners to return to get things from their homes, INCLUDING PETS? St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parish were hit as hard as New Orleans, yet they are allowing people back in. We also need to keep pointing out that IF they would ensure that pets can be evacuated along with their owners, they’d find getting at least some people out far more easy.

This makes no sense.

Also, the media needs to be pushed to insist upon access to New Orleans. If we don’t document the current situation, and document what the federal authorities are doing, we will regret it. If they’re not being observed, they’re going to be far more flagrant in their violations of laws which restrict what they can legally do.

St. Bernard officials plan a staggered return for
residents to view their property, though no date has yet been set.

St. Tammany Parish officials Thursday gave the green light for
thousands of residents to return to their homes today beginning at
8 a.m.

Gretna(?) Parrish is also planning to let people in on Thursday.

They are ideologically driven, and have an insatiable craving for blood. They see absolutely nothing wrong with killing some deer so that others may live -- and they extrapolate that into human affairs.

At Indiana University, we were told in ethics class that some people will go absolutely crazy without eating meat. These people often have a higher craving for alkeehol, and cirrhosis further drives their frenzy. If you can get them to swallow some B6 or B12 from time to time, they tend to be more reasonable.

New Orleans has name recognition, and therefore a higher land value. The rest should be easy enough to figure out.

This is their chance. Everything done so far has been to either kill the locals or move then far away. Just be glad for the right wings incompetence. Other wise the death toll would be far higher.

However, after the water leaves some parishes have allowed residents to go back either for short periods or if possible without restriction.

However, New Orleans is also dealing with a serious threat of fire and the cities inability to do much about them. I think once they clear enough roads and clean up the bodies that we will start to see people being allowed to return.

The situation in New Orleans is much worse and the consequenses of fire in an urban area with many wooden buildings much more serious. I'll trust Nagin on this one since it seems to be coming from him.
