CNBC reporting Brownie being removed in role of Katrina FEMA coordinator
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 12:18 PM by flpoljunkie
CNBC reporting Homeland Security press conference due soon. Sounds like he's not actually being fired with this description.

CNBC says it came off the AP wire.

7. New meme: "Well, he wanted to retire anyway."
Just heard on MSNBC.

The thing about "removing him from Katrina" but keeping him in his position as director makes zero sense, because anybody they hire to take over is still UNDER his direction -- he's still the boss.

8. Brownie replaced by Coast Guard Vice Admiral Allen who came in right away
after Katrina passed through New Orleans and began the search and rescue operations. Allen is the Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard.

10. Check this OUT!!!!!!!
From MSNBC:

Brown's biography on the FEMA Web site says he had once served as an "assistant city manager with emergency services oversight," and a White House news release in 2001 said Brown had worked for the city of Edmond, Okla., in the 1970s "overseeing the emergency-services division."

However, a city spokeswoman told the magazine Brown had actually worked as "an assistant to the city manager."

"The assistant is more like an intern," Claudia Deakins told the magazine. "Department heads did not report to him." Time posted the article on its Web site late on Thursday.

What a fucking fiasco! Umm, that is called out-an-out lying.

Another Bush cronie idiot friend bites the dust. :nuke:
