Rudy Guilini
I am upset that everytime you hear about the 9/11 anniversary you hear about Rudy Guilini. My problem with this is that he is part of the reason things went so bad after the attacks. Years before 9/11 people told Guilini that the firefighters needed better communications equipment and he did not provide that equipment. Also, it has been reported that people tried to tell Guilini not to put his police department's headquarter's or a particular department of the police on one of the highest floors of the World Trade Center, but Guilini did it anyway. Do not get me wrong, I think the terrorists attacks on 9/11 were very wrong. However, I do not see any reason to make a guy into a hero when he did not really do anything heroic and was the reason firefighters could not communicate. Instead of being hailed as a hero Guilini should have been recalled for gross incompetence in the days and years before the attacks.

5. Also, Guiliani is now making millions of dollars using 9/11....
he somehow instantly became an expert on security. Go figure.

4. I wouldn't worry about Rudy (easier to spell)
He'll never get the nomination because he is too "liberal".

7. A tool blinded by ego
His real enemies: his own state machine and grumbling Conservatives, as a rival to the Bush clan and being from a blue state he has been led down the path and used and abused by the WH. He is a one card deck they keep playing for 9/11 for the rest of sorry crew to hide behind.

Nothing will earn votes and not taking Hillary on proves what exactly? And not taking on the gubernatorial race(though the D'Amato crowd AND the RW don't want him.

And yet the ambitious doofus keeps strolling around looking like a candidate(candidacial?) like many another self star struck doomed loser.
Lieberman springs to mind.

Maybe he DOES like just doing fundraisers and posing with his medal now. That would be an act of humility for him.

The Bush preference for the next president would have to be a weak GOP loyalist with a rope leading from his neck to the Bush mansion or another Bush. I can tell they are really pining to give it to Jeb and sorely tempted by the sheer weight of unstopped success in actually gaining and keeping power- no matter how ugly it gets. A ruinous interregnum where everyone is suddenly free to trash the incumbent has to be a secondary scenario. They really want continuity.
