So Roberts believes Bush can keep us in a permanent war
and that there is nothing Congress can do to get out of it. If he didn't feel that way, he would say he didn't in response to questions about the power of Congess to get us out of a war.

1. Congress can stop approving the funding
Not that they have the nads. But they can stop approving if they choose.

2. They love funding death. The Senate Dems all vote for it.
We need to get the message across to them to stop.

4. What is it going take?
If they are so obtuse that they haven't figured out the majority of the American people oppose the war, what can we do to convince them.

The military-industrial complex has them all under it's thrall.

3. That was Roberts answer exactly.
When Leahy was pushing him for an answer, he said "Congress controlls the purse strings as you well know, and can simply stop the funding."

6. If we had a congress with guts/vision/integrity/etc
They could charge him with war crimes, with lying to the american public, and with deriliction of duty and impeach his ass. Then he wouldn't have power at all.

Unfortunately, the only thing our congress really seems to have is an unlimited credit card and the ability to run from a fight.

Elections at ALL levels matter...we're now paying for embracing all that pork in our home districts...we got our bridges but it's costing us everything.

8. Permanent war allows the economy to roar without creatine democrats.
No SS, so health care, no education, no nothing except spending on the war.

So war is the lifebood.
