Are people forgetting about what happened in New Orleans already?

I posted in the GD about these photos:
Rated 'R', Bring your Mommy!

And related links. These are very strong photos from the hurricane called Katrina. The problem is that these story's are in German. I can't find Stern Magazine in english. Another problem is that I can't read German too good, but some of my friends are from Austria. That's how these articles were pointed out to me. Please, look at these photos, some are very disturbing. Look at all the links in each story and see what photos are there. I haven't seen any other publication publish as many NO photos of the damage, suffering, and dead.

2. Thanks for the links
I don't have time to read or translate right now, but there are plenty of German-speaking DUers. If I get back to this tonight, I'll post my impressions of it. German media can be pretty harsh, but very truthful.

3. You may want to add a warning or something to your post...
Those pictures are pretty graphic. Just sayin'. Some people are pretty sensitive.

Not me, mind you. I just love desiccated corpses. But I can't speak for anyone else.

5. My experience
Some photos will never hit the US Wire, because we are protecting, read rather they are protecting our sensibilities

6. Yeah, like these photos are something worse that the US public has seen!
Remember the photos of Jonestown? How about the starving and dying in Ethiopia during the early eighties? The photos of the dead from the tsunami? Why are these any different? Because they're from America? Because they're too many dead for the US's public to cope with? Because so many thousand of dead didn't fit in with somebodies plan? Why?! Why did we have to loose New Orleans to the point where the city would HAVE to be rebuilt and to whose instructions?
