Is this new Rovian Strategery?
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 05:46 PM by corkhead

Look at him pout; it looks like he is about to cry. Are they trying to portray him as vulnerable and human? I am unaware of him EVER previously coming anywhere close to admitting a mistake. Are their polling numbers telling them to take this desperate path?

edit for spellering

2. Notice the cool steel blues. No red. Blue is sad. They want us out
of outrage and into sad asap.

We will not see the red tie for a while. Too much like a bull's eye. And can cause aggression.

Nope - powder, steel blues from here on in.

5. That's an interesting observation.
If they are honing his image to such a degree that they pick the colors he wears for sympathy, I should just wish for a lobotomy so I can merely enjoy the effect without being concerned about the man behind the curtain.

6. Consider the number of times he's appeared with soldiers in the background
A picture or a soundbyte tells all, and nothing need follow it, that's their hope. A pill for the fear, an easy answer without depth or meaning.

Smoke and mirrors, anyone?

10. Oh believe me, they're communicating a VERY deliberate image in MANY
languages. There is symbology and visual metaphor all over the place. There is a LOT of "subliminable" messaging being telecast. Colors absolutely. I've seen the way they stage him, how they have him sitting or standing, what his podium looks like (notice, for example, the not-entirely-subtle crucifix configuration in the decoratively-layered wood composing the front facade (!) of his podium at the republi-CON convention last year. I noticed how the theater-in-the-round effect they also used suggested the godhead figure atop the high mountain. Subtly messianic with a large helping of Moses. DISGUSTING. But make no mistake. DELIBERATELY and very carefully staged. And this stuff works on you subtly, pulling strings in the back of your head that you can't even feel.

I'd bet we're gonna see LOTS of understated blue colors in those neckties. Look for details. Think of the angles - there's ALWAYS an angle to the way bush appears.

15. doesn't work on me.
He'll always be a disgrace to the office of the Presidency no matter what color tie he's wearing. I hope there's nobody left who believes this crap but I won't get my hopes up. Some of the people will always be as stupid as they hope we are.

4. His phony face and crocodile tears can't raise poll numbers while news
of bodies still uncollected and decomposing in the New Orlean heat continues to break.

What is so sickening is rove probably sees spinning this catastrophe as his greatest challenge and is probably loving it.

9. Yes. They desperately want to keep the focus on personality and off policy
Like Nixon, Bush is a magnet for personal criticism. And so long as the discussion is about personality and whether it's nice to personally attack someone, then the discussion avoids politicas and actions and government and all the rest of the stuff.

wait for the fuss to die down.
Then blame everything on everybody else.
