3. I totally agree
I said the same thing a few weeks back (or something to the effect), and I got pretty flamed by one in particular. Cheap gas would boost his ratings, imho.

4. I have read many times and many places
that the ONE thing that can undo a president most assuredly is high gas prices. So I guess the opposite would also be true.

5. Yes, remember Carter?
I know, the hostage crisis was frustrating and didn't help matters. But the high price of oil impacted inflation and contributed to the so-called "malaise" of the late 70's.
