The Feint Saint of New Orleans, Hidden Images at the Haunted Mansion
I didn't watch the speech, but it was obviously a stage-managed event. But something curious can be seen from the images of the event...the cross of the St. Louis Cathedral, so obviously lit to fade into the background, mysteriously appear above George's head...

For a video link to speech here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/video/2005/09/15/VI2005091502332.html

We should understand that the spires of the St. Louis cathedral, which magically 'disappeared' for the speech, have crosses on them, and can even be seen at night:

Now, considering this post on the blog 'Synaptic Junction Daily' of the Leni Riefenstahl-type work of the Bush PR people:

http://mclir.blogspot.com/2005/09/keepers-of-bush-image-lift-stagecraft.html

As well as this Metafilter post on 'Lights, Camera, Empathy!':

http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/45157

Is it really any wonder then that we can faintly see a cross over Georgie's head, as in this photo?

http://www.canada.com/national/story.html?id=6b8e22ed-f759-4dcf-8047-a5af1b1760fb >

and here:

published here: http://www.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/news/050916/bush.shtml

but which strangely DISAPPEARS in the EXACT same photo, by the EXACT same photographer, when published by the WAPO, as in here? Hmmm...some photoshopping here, perhaps...because 'The Crusader' or the 'Saint' reference would have been just TOO obvious...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/16/AR2005091600309.html

Hmmmm....

Image is Everthing, like this blog says:

http://hughesforamerica.typepad.com/hughes_for_america/2005/09/image_is_everyt.html

Scott Sfora and Bob DeServi, keepers of the Riefenstahl flame...and servents of the Reich'sfuhrer..

Thus, there you have it. The 'Saint Feint' of a city known for its saints...

Disney Magic.

2. A lot of factors can affect an image
and what you end up seeing on the Internet. Even your own monitor settings effect the picture.

Now a days because of computerized photo enhancement and digital technology, you can take an image that is black, pull a curve and get the image to come up. That's probably what happened here.

However the fact that they deliberately didn't light the spires to begin with is what's weird. No American flags, no crosses - I guess they didn't want people to think of NO has American or mostly Christian?

I increased the brightness in that image, and the steeples are clearly there.

What was more disappointing was that increasing the brightness didn't make * disappear.

D'oh nevermind.. :)

6. Thanks for the info...:)
Question, though, did the spires show up on TV?

8. Sorry, I kept thinking of the blue light special at K-Mart
through out the speech, secondly it was really eerie, like we all watched a re-enactment of the last plane out of Saigon, the week before, and now there were no people and here, here was the president, it was really giving me bad vibes. And it was like he was totally alone, you saw him walking across the lawn to a podium and it didn't show anyone else, it was really strange.

10. I don't know about all that, but I can definitely see an apparition
in one of the windows of the cathedral & it is giving the "f&%k you" finger to the p.o.s. on his lawn.

12. He was in a studio with a blue screen
and a projected image. They lit up that area to make people think he was actually there and then cut their power an hour later.

Damn, these people are freaking evil. This is * showbiz.

13. Don't get me started on Andy Jackson and the Trail of Tears
The removal of Native peoples and nations from the southeast states to Indian Territory (later sold out by the Gov. to become Oklahoma).

Looks like old Genocide Andy and horse are about to take a bathroom break on Bush's head?

I wonder if Jackson wrote a note asking permission?

14. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. I really couldn't see the cross images
on my monitor for images only suppiled on this thread.

Actually, what startled me more was the fact that in spite of lighting up the cathedral, the spires and crosses seem to disappear completely. So my first impression was, gee, Bush just sucked the holiness right out of that building!

The power of Christ compels you!
