A smattering of anti-gay activists celebrated oustide the headquarters of gay rights lobby Human Rights Campaign on the eve of former Chief Justice William Rehnquist's funeral Sept. 7.

The protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas -- more or less all relatives of anti-gay activist Fred Phelps -- attacked Rehnquist while celebrating hurricane Katrina, which they believe purged New Orleans of unsavory homosexual elements. Similar charges resounded through the right-wing Christian realm, who noted that the New Orleans gay pride festival Southern Decadence was scheduled right around the time the hurricane hit.

The signs are captured below. Rehnquist earned "JUDGE IN HELL" for leading his court in overturning sodomy laws.

How very nice of him.:sarcasm: Anyway, one woman is in tight shorts or a tight skirt and a red (as a previous post talked about) t-shirt while the other is in tight jeans and a tank top. Now, I know those D.C. late summer days can be hot but shouldn't good little messengers of God have a little more modesty. You'd think Fred Phelps would want his women covered up head to toe, kind of like the dress codes at Falwell's school or in the fundie Mormon communities.
