a real solution to the gay marriage issue.
Allow any consenting adult humans to marry, either before a priest of an agreeable religion/denomination or before a suitable officer of the court.

This isn't rocket science.

5. Garrison Keillor was on the Al Franken Show yesterday
Al picked up on something in Garrison's book "Hone Grown Democrat" that seems pretty clear post-Katrina. That is: Republicans are very energized by homosexuality, but poverty doesn't disturb them nearly as much.

The GOP always focuses elections on the homophobic issue of the moment.

It's far easier to pretend to care about the state of others' souls than it is to do anything about their well-being.
