I even heard on Fox this a.m. that $'s provided to the Army Corp of Engineers in the 90's should have shored up the levees and it didn't. They were indicating that the $ was squandered and said that happened on the previous president's watch.

Reports of the Navy prepositioning ships to follow the storm, pulling national guard troops back to their home states, and getting people evacuated early in "white" portions of the gulf sure is in stark contrast to what the feds did (or didn't do) before katrina.....

What makes you think we're "predominantly" white? And the people along the coast are more likely to be Democrats than the landlocked corn-fed folks.

work? Army Corp of Engineers is not a Local entity. It is a part of the US Army. They received quite a bit of funding for Levee repairs and yet most of that money was taken back for the Iraqi war. The fact that money was allotted by the Clinton Administration and Congress and the Bush* Administration withdrew the funds does not reflect badly on Local government but on the Bush* Administration and Congress. The fact that Fox viewers are not able to know things like that is indicative of Fox viewers mental capabilities.
