It looks like the next catastrophe to hit us will cost billions in addition to Katrina. Time to call everyone home and take care of our own back yard. Time to pare the budget and get rid of the ridiculous expenditures like the "bridge to nowhere" and spend the money on the people who live here. We'll need every penny to keep our citizens fed and clothed, dollars for oil to heat our houses and operate our cars. For many of us, the car is the only way we have to get to work. No work, no tax $$$. We need the money at home to provide basic health care to our citizens. We must protect our citizens from the profiteering of big business in New Orleans and other places where events have opened the door for them to make more money off our backs . The billions being spent in Iraq will help Americans get back on their feet after these horrible storms have wiped them out. The billions of gallons of fuel now being used in tanks and trucks on the other side of the world will fuel our own soon to be empty storage tanks. Cancel your war, mr bush, take care of your own back yard and not the pockets of your cronies.
