She gave over $150,000 to Democrats before soft money was largely eliminated by McCain/Feingold.

Now, Ken Lay on the other hand gave about five times as much as that to the Republicans.

They certainly took their time with his indictment...

2. No doubt.
Martha has always been a strong supporter of Democrats. They'd have us all wearing ankle bracelets if they could.

3. The neo-cons are all about the money.
They voraciously grab all the money -- public and private -- to build their iron rule while simultaneously attacking anyone and anything that funds the opposition.

The K Street Project, by 'drown in the bathtub' Grover Norquist was initiated to prevent any lobbyist jobs going to Democrats. They wanted all that money to stay in the family while de-funding the Dems. It's the same reason that the Pubs have attacked 'trial lawyers' and their 'frivolous' cases. The examples are long. Martha Stewart is just another victim they made and example of.

5. That's right! If you ever have trouble figuring out why they're doing
what they're doing, just check out the money trail and it will all become clear to ya.

6. Yep. Martha's not the most cuddly character, but
her conviction was political payback, pure and simple.

7. Martha's always been a huge Democratic Party Donor.
I don't doubt for one minute that she was singled-out and made an example simply for that reason. Hell... Ken Lay is still out there free and walking around! But... He was a big Bush donor. :sarcasm:
