What does our nation need at this time ?
We need leadership. We need compassion. We need inspiration. We need a vision. There is no indication any of these will appear anytime soon.

What we don't need? We don't need more divisions. We don't need more taxcuts for the wealthy. We don't need more bullshit.

1. Bingo!
As I clicked on your link, I said out loud "Leadership".

You got that right. We have a chickenhawk. A fall on the pretzel bozo.

WE WANT A LEADER! Dammit. Give me Bill Clinton. Not his wife, please.

3. What we need most...
... are a few days respite from the continual onslaught of the Bush juggernaut, just to collect our wits.

I say that only partly facetiously. :)

8. That would be a big help.
Every day there's a new onslaught from them. I've read the Think Tanks are keeping the Agenda going for them. Their list was long and they've been writing it for decades.

I'm sick of it, too. And we don't seem to have many Dems in Congress and House that can handle it all. Dems are so overwhelmed at times they seem out of touch. But, it's probably because it's "unrelenting."

It's worn us down here on the "internets" trying to keep up with it all, for sure. :-(

9. Maybe a fellow named...
... Fitzgerald will put them on the defensive for a while. :)

That would provide a nice break.

Check out this quote from her interesting editorial in WSJ. Someone posted it here just after I read your post. :D

'Whatever It Takes'
Is Bush's big spending a bridge to nowhere?

Thursday, September 22, 2005 12:01 a.m. EDT

At any rate, Republican officials start diminishing Ronald Reagan, it is a bad sign about where they are psychologically. In the White House of George H.W. Bush they called the Reagan administration "the pre-Bush era." See where it got them.

Sometimes I think the Bush White House needs to be told: It's good to be a revolutionary. But do you guys really need to be opening up endless new fronts? Do you need--metaphor switch--seven or eight big pots boiling on the stove all at the same time? You think the kitchen and the house might get a little too hot that way?

4. We need control of Congress next fall.
That would open up a lot of goodies to make ReSucklicans squirm. Investigations! Committee chairmanships! Power! Truth! Wisdom. An exit strategy for Iraq. No more wars. Intelligent leadership. More Nancy Pelosi, less Denny Has-been.
Should I go on?
Hey voters - it's up to you.
Deep Six the fundies!

5. We also need truth. But I don't think there's an ounce of truth in DC
from either side of the fence.

7. I would settle for an opposition party right now
But we aren't even getting that. What do we have going for us? The CBC. I cannot applaud its members enough for their guts to stand up and call bullshit when they see it.
