Combined US & UK deaths in Iraq now total over 2,000
2,010 to be exact as of 09/25/05.

Thus, we are reaching two "milestones", sad as it may be to phrase it that way.

US deaths rapidly approaching 2,000.
UK deaths on verge of reaching 100.

1. 25000 contract "guards" have had 200 deaths that are never included
The Iraq total probably should include all "combat deaths", right?

Now about those 100,000 Iraqi's that died in year one of liberation - guess we will ignore them.

2. Personally, I don't ignore them...
but American voters do, sad to say.

You don't know how hard I tried day after day to avert the war in the run-up. I was on the phone with the British & Turkish embassies and writing to members of parliament in both and other countries. Believe me, I care about the Iraqi civilians -- that's my main motivation to protest this war, but self-centered Americans don't care if the "mission" involves murder; they only care about "success" or "failure".

4. American voters are good folk -but some American media and GOP leaders are
perhaps "less good"

5. The result of the last few elections say different...
if "American voters" were overwhelmingly "good folk", these elections could not be rigged the way they are.

Sorry, if you say 52% of Americans vote the right way, and 48% vote the wrong way, that's simply not enough to exonerate American voters. They have a responsibility, including all those Bush voters from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas who now find themselves abandoned by the feds.

Perhaps Bush and Blair want to match body for body the deaths due to 9-11.

6. whistle, I said "Combined US & UK"
I got my numbers from exactly that site. Look at where it says "Total US" - that's 1914. Then look where it says "Total UK" - 96.

1914
+ 96
-----
2,010 is what that adds up to.

7. Certainly, but I look at the total coalition numbers, after all the
...other countries initially came in to assist and spread the forces around. Had the coalition allies not been there from the beginning, those casualties most likely would have been reflected in the U.S. and U.K. combat deaths.

8. That's fine, look at what you want... but don't say
"Actually, the coalition deaths..."

You can't correct my number with your number if we are looking at different numbers
