Kerry Planning Iraq Speech

Kerry is working on another speech “laying out a timetable for Iraqis to regain control of their country.”

The speech was the second in a series of administration critiques and Democratic proposals being outlined by Kerry. Last week he focused more extensively on Hurricane Katrina. He said Monday he is preparing another speech laying out a timetable for Iraqis to regain control of their country.

In response to questions from an audience of about 500, Kerry said the nation can only afford to pay for the Iraqi war as well as the cleanup of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita if it forgoes tax cuts the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans are slated to receive next year and also considers a windfall tax on recent oil profits.

I still have my Kerry signs - but am so disappointed in his verbose responses and lack of significant MSM reponse by his 'team" - whomever that might be.

The bottom line is simple: The "we'll do whatever it takes" administration doesn't have what it takes to get the job done.

This is good. She has met with 12 members of Congress already, and has a meeting pending with 36 more. This is progress.

I am glad Sen. Kerry is planning an Iraq speech and glad that he is meeting with Cindy Sheehan. That's a good.

It should be an interesting meeting. I wish there was some way to get a report but I suppose that's not likely.

humblest apologies ... i will be elated if and when Kerry decides to stand up and be a leader of the anti-war resistance ... we are truly a candidateless movement ... and so it shall remain until someone stands up and earns the job ...

just wish Kerry would elevate the importance of issuing his Iraq position ... his other speeches have been good ...

If Katrina had no happened no doubt we would have more about his Iraq trip by now and this pending speech would have happened sooner. We can't fault mother nature - nor can we fault Kerry for respecting the gravity of the disaster and getting right in there to do what he could to do to help.

These last few speeches have been awesome!

i'm always frustrated that those supporting candidates never write about their own thoughts ... i understand that many elected Dems have much more access to information than we do ... but that doesn't mean we shouldn't form our own opinions ...

I wonder if he will have a streaming and/or available download of the speech. That is a MUST these days.
