Randi Rhodes today on Democrats......

I haven't listened for a couple of weeks, but up until then, was a regular. (Just turned off all radio, etc....couldn't take it anymore, nothing against Randi).

A few days ago I was trying to describe the various leanings of the AAR hosts to a friend--Malloy, the old-time union/populist; Franken--progressive/DLC and whatever else, who knows?; and Randi. Randi, I said, was in direct contact with Senators and her Congressman Wexler, so I figured she was a pretty good "party person."

So, today's comments sort of surpised me. When a caller asked why the Democrats weren't raising hell, why a Clinton or a Biden or SOMEBODY big in the party didn't stand up, she said, "You've got the wrong people,there!" Then she muttered something about "our Democrats"--Bush is at 32%, "if not now, WHEN?"

Having not heard her for a few weeks, is this new??? Is even the very "work the system" Randi even getting frustrated with the leadership--or lack of it???

they all have their toes in the water checking the temp..........fuck are they weak. Is there any leaders out there besides people on DU? Get a ball or two and make a stand. It is fucking unreal you can't find anyone willing to take the lead. Maybe they should be a DU participant.

When Paul Hackett wins his Senate race, we'll have a guy with balls on the hill.

Ironically, the only Democratic leader with a sack is Nancy Pelosi. Dennis Kucinich speaks truth to power but he is definitely alienated from the party leadership.

We are loaded up with Republican-light Democrats to the extent that real Democrats are not willing to speak up. If they speak up, they won't get any support from their colleagues. In fact, they are likely to get slammed.
Ever since the snow job Reagan pulled on America, Democrats have been living without backbones to keep them standing up-right. Money does wonders when someone rich wants to get a government that serves their wishes. The majority of the Democrats in office today are bought and paid for.
We need a Liberal/Progressive/Farmers/Labor/Socialist Party in America.

I ran for congress because my representative sucks. How are we going to get effective leadership if the grassroots never decides to go after the power seats?

...Gore gives a speech against the war. In response, XYZ Cable News network asks on a Republican and a Democrat. Let's call them Santorum and Lieberman. Hell, sometimes they just skip the Democrat entirely.

no one stands against him in the primaries. His only contender, Orman, just dropped out due to lack of funds.

She said write your democratic congressman or senator and demand to know why they are not out there supporting this anti-war movement. She's had it with democrats, and asked "what are they afraid of?"

I mean, why the fuck to democrats need to vote yes for Roberts, why and now we find out Bush is dealing the announcement of the next nominee. Does it take a rocket scientist to know we are going to get fucked by an even more right wing whackjob. Howard Dean and Randi are part of the few that are saying no on Roberts and speak the fuck up!

just because a politician doesn't fall into someone's line of thinking 100%, doesn't make them Republican.

too many of your superstar Democratic Party leaders were big supporters of the war and went on record as saying they were. They are afraid to be outspoken because of what they said in the past.

The brave ones, like Conyers and Kucinich were always against the war. I wish your Democrat leaders that did support the war would just say, Look, we were wrong and now we are totally against the war.

Then they would be freed up to do the right thing; remove bush from power and get the US out of the illegal war.
