On edit: (Please read this post with a hint of sarcasm if it is not obvious)

1. That certainly narrows it down.

2. So...if I'm not mistaken...
The subject of your avatar (and a great man I think you will agree), voted for the Patriot Act. I believe Russ Feingold was the only opponent.

This is for passage of the original!

4. I'm sarcastically defending Russ Feingold's vote for Roberts
And yea, Paul Wellstone was an incredible man.

5. Then you might want to change your avatar
becuase Paul Wellstone voted for it too. Only Russ Feingold voted NO. Even good people make errors in judgement sometimes, but that does not make them traitors.

9. That's exactly right
Russ voted for Roberts, Rice & Ashcroft. Others voted for Patriot Act, IWR & NCLB. I don't believe Russ supports right wing philosophy anymore than I believe other Senators support what Bush has done with the authorities entrusted to him.

10. Dem's have been a sucker for the GOP agenda
I feel some Dem's keep selling their souls to the GOP by supporting their agenda. The GOP ruthlessly liberals, yet we bend over for them.

I feel the political spectrum in the US has shifted significantly to the right, ever since many Dem's agreed to enter an illigal war and endorse the Patriot Act.

I'm worried the Democratic Party might split into two at this rate....

11. Let's hear it for the Senators that put in Sunset laws to this stupid act
It is tragic that it was passed, but considering the paranoia and manipulaion of the Chimpministration at the time, at least some sunset laws were established.

I certainly would not have signed it at the time, but...
