Tom Friedman believes genocide is the way
That will become clear in the next few months as we see just what kind of minority the Sunnis in Iraq intend to be. If they come around, a decent outcome in Iraq is still possible, and we should stay to help build it. If they won't, then we are wasting our time. We should arm the Shiites and Kurds and leave the Sunnis of Iraq to reap the wind.

1. Unfuckingbelievable
Friedman outdoes himself. Let's arm al-Sadr, Tom? Is that what you're suggesting?

2. Mass murder of people of color is American as apple pie
Especially the ones that don't agree with us or get in the way of political/imperial goals.

Just ask Native Americans, the Vietnamese, Latin America, etc.

4. I saw a piece by Luttwak in the Oct. Harper's taking the same position.
The policy elites seem to have come up with a new
"modified, limited hang-out" position. I think it's the
annoyed and offended tone that pisses me off the most,
like "how dare those Sunni fellows resist us? It's time
they were taught a lesson."

5. Wouldn't be the first anti-Arab comment by Friedman.
This guy hates Arabs like few others.
