Did I hear that Abramoff said he wouldn't go down alone? In
other words, he wouldn't be a solitary fall guy for his colleagues? I think that's right. I think that is what I heard he said. Hmm, come to think of it, didn't Tenet say the same thing?

1. That kind of talk is a good...
...way for him to go down in a small plane. They wouldn't hesitate to wellstone someone who knows as much as Abramoff surely does.

3. Wasn't he allegedly connected to a mob hit?
Supposedly the guy on the other end of a business deal over which he's now been indicted on 6 felony counts for fraud was found dead in a mob-style killing. I hope I have that right; there's been so much more news lately to keep track of that I may be mistaken about that.

If the mob is involved in his scandal, then I wouldn't be feeling too eager to say anything if I were Abramoff.

4. yeah
and they did a short summary on it TONIGHT on America's Most Wanted. They connected that mob hit to Abramoff and DeLay.

5. Delay is involved? That's incredible
I read somewhere that Delay may have accepted gifts and trips from Abramoff and maybe laundered money in exchange for favors to the Lobbyist. But Delay is connected to the specific scandal for which Abramoff has been indicted? Did the program give specifics as to HOW Delay is connected?

they connected the people involved in the hit to DeLay, not the mob hit itself.

7. That is the second time they have done that
They ran that case a few weeks back, too, in detail, and showed a pic of Hammer and Abramoff...

9. Here is an excellent site that's been on top of the Abramoff/San Cruz
scandal.

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2005_09_25.php#006673

DeLay ought to be very concerned where this is headed-

From the link:

t's also been a matter of public record for more than four years that around the time of Boulis's murder, for no clear reason, Kidan paid roughly a quarter million dollars to one of those three men now under indictment for the crime. For that and other reasons, those of us who live in the world where gravity always pulls down and never up, can probably conclude that the cops believe Kidan's are somehow dirty in this matter.

In any case, here's the point I haven't seen discussed at any length. That money did not come out of Kidan's pocket. He may have authorized the payments. But those checks came from Sun Cruz itself, the company Kidan and Abramoff then co-owned.

Articles on this subject almost always throw in a line to the effect that no one suspects Abramoff himself of knowledge or involvement in Boulis's death. And I know of little tangible to contradict that. But he was the co-owner, with Kidan, of the company which made the tainted payments. And Abramoff and Kidan were in pretty close and regular contact in how they used Sun Cruz's money for the DC lobbying operations. At a minimum Abramoff might be able to shed some light on whether there is some innocent explanation for the money that went to the guy who's been indicted for Boulis's murder.

8. This article explains a lot.
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,6903,158...

It talks about the connection of Delay with K street and their evil plan for America. This is a criminal conspiracy that is wider reaching than just Delay or Abramoff. They are attempting to permanently entrench Republicans so far in government we'll never get the stink out.

18. I remember 2 or 3 months ago reading an article here on DU
And Abramoff was being interviewed in his restaurant in DC. He is very bitter about the way everyone abandoned him. I can't remember specifics (I have CRS) but he talked about other people being involved.

16. they like the john wayne imagery
but i think winston churchill's comment about, "it's the first time he has seen rats swimming toward a sinking ship" is more appropriate.

17. You are on to something there the rats are headed toward the
sinking ship. I don't think they have a choice (at least not in their flawed thinking). They have to stay together they are in too deep.

20. Could Abramoff (and DeLay) be "accessories after the fact"?
In otherwords, when word of the hit became public, did they have knowledge of who probably ordered the hit and failed to pass that information on to the police?

21. I remember that too & there's another nasty episode with hammer & Abramoff
DeLay took a trip to Saipan, where the prostitutes and forced labor romes, on Abramoff's nickel.

Al Franken has played many times an audio of DeLay over there telling the people who run the garment industry that they exemplify everything the Republicans stand for.

And according to sources DeLay had reassured them he wouldn't allow a bill to come before the House to make the normal US labor laws apply to Saipan.

As a part of a commonwealth of the USA, they get to put "made in USA" labels on their product, even though it was produced through the virtual enslavement and abuse of women workers. The women paid thousands of dollars to go there from the Phillipines to find a supposedly "wonderful American job", only to find themselves living in squalor, forced into prostitution, and forced to have abortions if they become pregnant as a result.

If they don't abort, no job. No way out or home.

It is one of the worst stories that these thugs have been involved with.

Shameful beyond that which words can express.
